They do growl. In most cases it is just a sound similar to a puppy playing. However, it can be an alert if he is moddy, not wanting to play or afraid of new people, which happens the more they bond with you. Have you read the article on Havana Rabbits on Animal World? There is some good insight there.

I have a black Havana named BlackJack. We adopted him about month ago. He is not really a friendly rabbit. We bought a nice big cage, I talk to him all the time and let him loose in the room everyday for exercise. He does not want to be picked up, but will let me pet him sometimes. He bites me or my daughter all the time. I have no idea how old he is. I'm thinking about getting him fixed. Will this help? Also I think he's spraying and it stinks! I really want to keep him and give him a chance. He is beautiful. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Yes, neutering should do the trick.  if you want a PET bunny - you should always neuter.  make sure the vet has done this before on bunnies and is an exotic vet.  A weekend class does not an exotic vet make -

I have Havanas, all you do to make them nice is give them lots of attention. They don't need a big cage because there small. Talking to them can freak them out. Giving him exercise is good. Go to the vet to find out how old he is.Is he by a girl? By the way I'm 9.

I got a Havana bunny named Cupcake about three years ago from the Humane Society in Laveen, Arizona. I had always wanted a pet bunny when I was a child, but we moved around so much my parents wouldn't let me have one. Cupcake is amazing...I am so glad I got her! She is soft and sweet, and she is very curious about everything. My parents love to watch her for me when I go out of town (they call her their grand-bunny), and they always buy her new toys and treats. Everyone loves her, she even gets to come to the office with me sometimes. If anyone is thinking about getting a pet rabbit, I would definately recommend a Havana. I would also suggest checking out your local small animal rescue or Humane Society...you never know what you might find!

I just got a Havana Dutch baby yesterday and she's so sweet. I named her carmel and I'm getting her sister too. My sister, the one I got my bunny from, says she's a silver so I'm very confused

Don't be confused, one is the color and the other the name. She is a Silver Havana Dutch and I am sure she is adorable. Also sometimes bunnies fur color will change slightly as they mature.

My black havana is 3 years old and his black fur is starting to turn reddish in some areas. What do I do to get rid of the red?

Is he an outside rabbit? That could just simply mean he is getting to much sun or needs a different type of food for his fur.

I am thinking about getting a havana. It isn't the traditional blue black or brown. it is a white and black broken. I want to show it but not sure if the coloring is good... i also need to know some things that are not good for showing.

Go to the American Rabbit Breeders Association (ARBC) and look up the show standards and points for the Havana. That is the most complete reference.

Broken is now one of the recognized colors. There are now FIVE recognized colors. Broken ones just happen to be really rare of all their colors.
