How old will any Hotot have to be so you can breed, and how many bunnies will it have?

Dwarfs Hotots rweach sexual maturity around 6 months of age and should be bred prior to being a year old. The average litter runs from 4 - 8 bunnies but it can take mom bunny a couple of liters to catch on and feed the babies so have puppy formula (Ebsilac) on hand and bottles.

My first rabbit was a Dwarf Hotot that I got at a show in third grade. He didn't like me much at first, but he soon became the best thing in my life. I have had up to seventy rabbits at a time, including Havanas, Castor Mini Rex, Lion Heads, Thriantas, and French Lops. My favorites would have to be my Dwarf Hotots' and French Lops. I still have my first rabbit, Jacobs' his name, hes six years old; hes spoiled like no other.

Did you check out Craigslist in Kalispell? There is a breeder here who sells them for about 25, but we are in Montana. Loads of cute ones to choose from.

I really love them and think they are cute but after he passes I'm going to be attached so much I don't know if I'll get another bunny, but I want to so bad.

I'm going to start raising rabbits a mix between mini rex and a dwarf. The male is black and white and the female is black. Also the female is the dwarf and the male is the mini rex. I'm going to be selling them on June 1 2012 there going to be born on may 1 and I'm going to be selling them for 25 dollars each. I think most of the kits are going to be black and white or black and maybe a few that are white. I will put my phone number on when they are big enough to go to their new home and putting an add when they are ready to go!

Appreciating the dedication you put into your site and in depth imairnftoon you provide. It's great to come across a blog every once in a while that isn't the same out of date rehashed imairnftoon. Fantastic read! I've bookmarked your site and I'm including your RSS feeds to my Google account.

Rabbits may seem to poop a lot, but as long as they're round and hard, he should be fine

Besides taking it to the vet to get teeth shortened, Is it going to need shots or any other vet treatments?

There are two shots that are required for bunnies - just one time initial shots.  Myxomatosis and Viral Hemorrhagic Disease (VHD) are the two shots that are required.  You will most likely want to spay or neuter your bunny as well because it just makes for a better pet.  I haven't heard (and I didn't do it) ever take bunnies to the vet to have their teeth shortened.  I think if they have appropriate toys to chew on and actual chew toys - possibly they file them down themselves.
