I have a havana rabbit. He is the best thing that ever happened to me. He lives to be pet and loves kisses, but he also loves having his own alone time. I love him so much. His name is rhino. Because when I bought him they gave him to me in a box that had rhino on it. He is perfect and beautiful.

I know this was written a few years ago and you probably already have what you were looking for. However, there is a great breeder who carries dwarf hotot bunnies in Gastonia, NC. We bought my daughter's hotot there and he's great!

I believe a bunny can eat pretty much anything you eat as long as it is nutricious. A whole lot of sugar or salt isn't good. The rabbit pellets provide a nutricious diet and are geared to do that. If you wish than a few pieces of vegetable (obviously carrot) or maybe a little piece of fruit. These little guys only need 1/4 cup pellets a day but they will eat anything and everything so just don't overdoo it. They do love oats though so that is probably why they love the oatmeal. Just a little - they aren't very big.

My rabbit has had a nibble of cliff bar(with no chocolate) and a frosted flake! She also likes our baseboards! I hope your rabbit doesn't like baseboards

Will they poop around in your house?

We had a Dutch rabbit for over twelve years. His name was Snoopy and he was very friendly and sociable and loved to play. We used to take him outside and he loved the outdoors and the exercise. Never leave a bunny in their cage all the time because they need exercise and they need lots of love. He has been gone a year and a half and I still really miss him. He was the best pet we ever owned.

I am getting a black Netherland dwarf tomorrow. I am very excited. I have had rabbits in the past but never one this small. I cannot wait to surprise my daughter!! However, I was considering just letting it wander around the house, is this a bad idea? I don't want it to get lost or something.

As long as you start them out in areas that you can monitor to assure their safety and get use to its surroundings.

I have a four-year old mini rex named Coco and am thinking about getting a baby Holland lop. Coco was not too happy when another girl mini rex came for a week while her family was on vacation. She wouldn't even look at the other bunny. Do you have any suggestions for introducing Coco to a baby lop - and vice versa. I would like to get a female Holland lop as Coco isn't neutered and would also like to know how to tell - for sure! - that the Holland lop is a she when she's still a very young.

I think I have a Holland Lop rabbit because he looks exactly like the picture on this website. But our rabbit is not a miniture. He weighs about 12 pounds. Could he be a larger version of the Holland Lop rabbit?

There are many different breeds of Lops but the Holland Lop is tiny and goes about 3 - 4 pounds.  Yours weighing in a 12 pounds is a little larger.  Many of the Lops do look alike and basically it is size, length of the ear, body etc that makes for diferent breeds.  If you go to and enter 'lop rabbit images' you will see a whole bunch of different lop breeds and possibly be able to pick yours out.  Remember, the various breeds come in different colors or patterns.

We have a 9mo lop rabbit name Sadie, we think she is a Holland Lop. She weighs 9lbs. She looks like the pictures as well.

Mini Lops do look like Holland Lops. They are both really sweet. The big difference is that Hollands have a dwarf gene so they are the smallest breed of lops. Next is the Mini Lop. Many people say that Mini Lops are the smallest, excluding the Hollands because they are a dwarf breed. I recently got a call to take a Holland and the picture looked like he could be, but when I got him, he weighed about 7 or 8 pounds so I knew just by his size that he is a Mini Lop. Sweet boy just like my Hollands, but he is definitely not a dwarf.
