Lori - 2004-07-23 I have a teddy bear hamster named Go-Go. He has been with me since the end of September, 2003. I love him alot. He is almost like a person. If he sees me come into the room, he wants me to pick him up. He reaches out to me in between the cage bars for me to pick him up. He is so cute. He gets away with everything because he is so cute. He chews my pillow cases so my pillows have holes in them but I am getting new pillows. He is too big for a wheel to be put into his cage but he has a 12" comfort wheel that he uses when I have him out of his cage. I bought him some stuff at Build A Bear Workshop because alot of those things are just the right size for him. He loves the blue checkered puppy dog house that they sell and I take him for walks with the travel back pack that they sell. Lori P.S. I read somewhere if, after the female has her babies and you have to absolutely touch them, you should mix your hands in the stuff you use to line the cage, i.e., shavings, corn cobs, etc.
Anonymous - 2004-07-19 a word of warning, if you are thinking about getting a hamster and leaving it in your room, i suggest putting it somewhere else at night because of the wheel. it was impossible for me to find a silent wheel, so almost every night i had trouble going to sleep. (but we found a solution to make the wheel silent)
steph - 2004-07-10 My two Russian hamsters Tootsie and Ollie have now had their babies! I wrote and told you about it before in this hamster comment section! They had 9 baby hamsters but sadly one died. All is going well and she is looking after then properly. She had them at 8ish yesterday morning! Ill write another comment soon so you know how they are doing.
I HAVE ALOT OF TEDDY BEAR HAMSTERS. I DO NOT KNOW WHERE TO PUT THEM BECAUSE THERE ARE SO MANY OF THEM. I ALSO HAVE FOUR LONGHAIR HAMSTERS, ONE OF THE FEMALES GAVED BIRTH TO ABOUT TEN, HALF TEDDY BEAR AND HALF LONGHAIR HAMSTERS. THEIR DAD IS A TEDDY BEAR HAMSTER. HAMSTERS ARE MY FAVORITE RODENTS, THOUGH SOME NIGHTS I CANNOT SLEEP BECAUSE THEY ARE UP EATING AND JUST BEEN VERY PLAYFULL.
steph - 2004-06-30 I have two russian hamsters called tootsie and ollie a girl and a boy. They recently had sex an tootsie is now pregnant and we are expecting the babies in about 2 weeks from now I cant wait !
justyn - 2004-06-29 hi my brother has a teddy bear hamster.her name is sapphire.I do not know how to breed two hamsters without one getting hurt by the other.Im going to find out how to do it on this website.I dont know how old she is either.she looks 2 months old but im new to this so how would i know.this website is thumbs up all the way.
Donna and AjaXX - 2004-06-19 For Parents, A couple of years ago my daughter Allison became interested in Hamsters. Now she is a true lover and also quite the expert. Although I am not a hamster lover I love the way she has bonded with her pets. Hamsters are also very cost free. They may only cost about 20.00 in supplies,every five months. If you provide your Hamster with a wheel, it will run up to 8 miles per night!

If he or she bites, I say put her back into it`s cage to settle down for about an hour.
