Derek Sisson - 2004-06-03 I have recently learned a very good tip for treating wet tail which is highly effective. even with some of the sickest hamsters. ive treated well over 20 hamsters with wet tail at the pet store i work at. all you need to do is feed the dri tail liquid directly to the hamsters through a dropper. about 8 drops. also add it to the water as directed.
Linda - 2013-03-15 We got a black Teddy Bear Hampstear almost 1 month ago. He is getting very familiar with us now, but when we try to pick him up he gets very jumpy. Starting to wonder if this thing is anti social. He will take snacks from our fingers and wood sticks from us, and we can pet him too. Just not so sure about picking him up. (The last time I tried he bit me, got 2 fingers with one bite - I'm kind of apprehensive to try again too!)
Parker - 2013-03-03 My hamster is very sleepy. But one morning when I went to get him out he lost some fur around his nose. Is he sick? Please let me know.

Jasmine Brough Hinesley - 2013-03-03 How old is he? Does he act normal most of the time? Hamsters are normally nocturnal animals and so they will sleep most of the day while you are awake. As long as he is acting normal, is eating, and has a clean cage I wouldn't worry about it too much.
moma - 2013-02-04 My Daughter had a beautiful Teddy Bear Hamster, plus we have a very large part Black Lab part Newfoundland Dog. Our dog LOVED the Hamster so much that he would let him walk around on his back and they would sometimes sleep together. The hamster got sick and our Dog was the one that made sure we checked on him on a regular basis. Unfortunatly our beloved Hamsters did not pull through and our Dog was really upset he was not himself for days. Now we have a new Teddy Bear and we hope that they will become as good friends as the Dog and the first Hamster.
heather - 2012-10-13 I have had my hammie sence sept and he is doing great. but now that the cold weather has arrived he seems to stay in his hut more. Its only 62-66 degrees in the house ( dad hasnt turned on the heat yet) and when he does this is the normal temp all winter. Is he going to be ok or should i find a way to warm up the room.

Clarice Brough - 2012-10-13 He should be fine as long as he has plenty of bedding to snuggle up in. They are naturally noctural, so he may also be getting more inclined to sleep during daylight hours.
michelle - 2012-06-14 I have a hamster that has a swollen check and little loss of fur does this mean he has a cold or is something else going on?

Charlie Roche - 2012-06-14 Could be several things. Tooth ache - seriously. If a tooth hurts, the cheek can swell and they will then run the sore cheek against something and so you have the loss of fur. If it is not sneezing and nose isn't running - I'd look for tooth problems or possibly an insect bite.
Megan - 2012-07-29 My hamster is a female Russian Dwarf and she has two spots (one on her tummy and the other on her side that is a pink bald spot. It may be crusty, but I didn't check.

Charlie Roche - 2012-07-30 Check the spot and see if rubbing or chewing. Might bebedding and allergic reaction. have you changed food/bedding recently to something new?

Clarice Brough - 2012-08-26 Sorry to hear your little friend isn't so happy right now. But yes, a dirty behind indicates wet tail.
amanda2011 - 2012-08-26 Couldn't it be diarhea because I just started giving her greens and I may have givin her too much?
tong123 - 2012-06-10 Hey how do u stop this critters from breeding? Because when I was a kid my grandparents bought a pair male and female and just 3 months they spawned. I forgot how many babies where there I was only 8. Then the process continued until we had to get a new cage for the others and months later a we did it again new cage bigger this time. Then after a year we had to make a 4 foot cage to fit the others they spawned so may that we can start a business. my grandma got frustrated because of the smell that we had to give the all away. I'm planning to get a couple of these hamsters, forgot the name because I was a kid, so how can we castrate the little guys?

Charlie Roche - 2012-06-10 Just get females - no males.
If you provide your Hamster with a wheel, it will run up to 8 miles per night!

Today my hamster made 3 babies and she is still too fat. Is she going to have more?
They will have as many as 6 pups so she could be having more - probably.
