I just purchased my male skinny pig from the pet store 2 days ago and he's sick. Watery eyes, sneezing, and coughing. I'm scared and don't know what to do for him. He is on a hypoallergic bedding, timothy hay. Eats and drinks well. He is in a warm place, I have a small blanket inside his house within the cage. Any suggestions?

Take him to the vet, if they get a cold or pneumonia they can die. Make sure he has lots of water and is not too close to a heating vent because it can dehydrate him. All the best.

I breed hairless piggies and I can tell you that your pig needs to go to the vet right away..he needs antibiotics..if he stops eating it could be too late...good luck with your piggie...

Watery eyes are normal in skinny pigs they have no eyelashes so most everything that gets in there eyes stays there, thus creating watery eyes there is nothing you can really do to prevent it. I have a male skinny pig and I give him natural tears eyedrops every once in a while which does help it, as for the coughing and sneezing that isn't normal so you should see your vet.

I work at a pet store and I asked my boss to bring me in a skinny pig I'm picking him up later this afternoon. My aunt had a few and I fell in love with them at first sight.. I hope to spread the word and love about these kickbutt creatures.
