Animal-World Information about:
Chinchillas have great appeal, like cuddly little "balls of fur". Their exceedingly soft, dense coat has more fur per square inch than any other known mammal!

I have two chinchillas. I love them very much and feed them everyday. The only thing I don't like about them is that I'm constantly cleaning up after them. I do admit they really are lovely creatures and I am glad we bought them though I'm not sure if I will or will not have anymore after these.
We have 3 chinchillas Oreo, Smokey, and Taz. They are like part of the family. When my boyfriend comes home from work instead of kissing me hello first, he runs in and gives the boys a kiss and hello first. It's amazing how much fun they are. Taz is the one we saved from the pet store that no one wanted. He was the third addition to our family. The funny thing is that each one is so different from each other with their own personalities and corks. Oreo is cuddly and wants love all the time, Smokey is the trouble maker and loves to get the other two going, and Taz would rather be alone and do his own thing until Smokey comes around starting trouble.
I just got a chinchilla six months ago, he is so cute!! His name is Twinkie and he is brown. He is so sweet and loves to be around me at all times. He is like a dog, he has to be everywhere where I am when he is out running around. When I clean his cage out he hops onto my shoulder and just watches me. Then when I'm done he will come nose to nose with me and just nibble and lick my nose. It's like he is saying thank you! I wouldn't trade him for any other animal!
I have two chinchillas, a male and a female. Pearl is the white one and dusty is the gray! They are just adorable!
My chin is a sassy chin to my family and friends. 9\(ju"][;pkk) (my chin wrote that)
I have had my chin, called Mr.Chubbs, for 3 years now. He is just awesome. He likes all my other small animals exept my male Degus. I think everyone should know that you should not feed your chin any nuts (peanuts, sunflower seeds, etc), since the chins digestion is not made strong enough for it. They will have diarea! Other than that chins are easy to care for. Oh yeay, careful with the loud noises and music, since chins are sensitive to vibrations. Take care of your chins and they will show you love! Frank
We had a chincilla named Tilly for close to 9 yrs now. We had everything for her, she was so sweet, but just 2 days ago my grandson was out here and wanted to put her in her ball. I said just hold her, but no he had to put her in the ball. Well we had a freak accident because also my 2 yr old granddaughter was helping her ball go, which she didn't need help as she can make the ball go on her own, right? Well, my son notice what he thought was blood and yes it was! We took her to the vet, which I knew would do no good as no vets around here take care of these kinds of animals. She had a cut on her belly. He said she had cut or torn herself open and her little insides were showing. The vet said he couldn't do anything. Too bad vets don't learn just a few more animals huh? So be very careful around young children because they don't know how to handle same animals. We miss her so..
I just had a chin pass away, no signs of anything and he was as happy as could be. I woke up one night and found him laying in his cage and he wasn't moving. I thought he was sleeping so I left him alone. About an hour later I heard him bark real loud and I go to the cage and he is laying there in a seizure. So I pull him out and hold him and called the vet. No vets around me do exotic animals but one, and he was out of town for Xmas. Needless to say, he made it until 7 in the morning and then passed. I was so sad about it, and still am when I look at his cage. So I went and bought a large male around 2lbs and a female from JTChins. He's 10 months old and both are standard grey. I hope to start breeding as a small hobby. I've done nothing but read and learn more about these loving creatures. I have a Mosiac due on Jan 19th, so I'm excited. I think they are better than a dog, cat, or anything that I have ever owned. They are just so loving. I have never had a bad experience with them since I've owned them except the death of the first one. Other than that i would tell anyone to buy 1. Welp, bye bye.
I have three at home. They are called India, Jaki, and Noha. I love them.
I have a chinchilla named Minchi and he is well behaved.
