Hi my mom got my son a skinny pig for christmas and I hnow it had 2 owners before we got it. His name is dexter and he's so sweet, he loves to give my son kisses and he came home yesterday. I think he had seizure or something, he was getting snuggled and he was purring next thing I know he started to shake. Really bad and moving really weird then he was fine again. Now it's the next day he was fine all morning I went to go make myself a coffeee and I found him on his side. I just wanted to know if anyone out there knows what's going on I'm a little sad and scared cause my son already loves him so much already can anyone help me please?

Do you know how old the skinny pig is? They usually only live 2-3 years so he may just be getting older. If he seems healthy otherwise it may just be his age. It does sound like he's having a seizure from you description though... so if it continues to happen and you are worried you may want to take him to a vet. I don't believe there is anything over the counter you can give him for seizures.

You can get a skinny pig at petsmart for around 80 dollars, even though they're expensive they are a great investment!:)

My husband and I took our kids and dogs to a park and we found a English Spot bunny too scared to move. We now have him and have given him a wonderful home. I can say that he is very sweet loves to be around us and our 3 kids. He loves to run around with our 2 ferrets and our cats. If anyone is looking into getting a bunny a English Spot is a great one to get. I would love to add another one so Lucky wouldn't be the only one

If you can't here's a very humane way (which is arguably more humane than the euthanasia shot)

Its called a CO2 (carbon dioxide) chamber. take a small, airtight box or bowl, a small cup with a good bit of baking soda and another cup of vinegar. say goodbye to your rat, and put him in the box. put the cup in as well, and pour in the vinegar. shut the box tightly, and leave it alone for 20-30 minutes. then remove the lid and bury your rat

My little hotot (Pancakes) does not ever want to be held or picked up. Is this normal?

Generally when a rabbit matures and hormones start kicking in they become stand offish or irritable, maybe even showing aggressive tendancies. One way to help resolve this issue would be to have your rabbit spayed or neutered (it takes alot of research to find a good rabbit vet in most locations that will do a spay/neuter and especially at a reasonable price so check your local shelter or rabbit rescues for recommendations). The other possibility is that your rabbit has issues with the way its being handled or it feels that its personal space (generally being its cage or litter box) is being encroached upon by humans or other animals. Researching rabbit behavior and learning to read your rabbits "body language", modifying your behavior and adjusting things around your home to appease your rabbit will better your relationship. Also, does your rabbit have an ample supply of toys to help de-stress? Rabbits may stress over minor daily activities like humans or animals coming in and out of the home or being noisey and they simply need something to preoccupy their minds with and play is just a great source of relaxation for a rabbit. Make sure your rabbit has plenty of toys and boxes to dig around in that are its personal "things" and not used by other animals (or humans). Good luck!

No this is not normal it is probably because it wasn't handled from a young age which can result in that. There are other reasons look it up I bet you'll find something!

I would suggest working with him every day like when you change his food try and let him smell your hand or something just try and let him getr used to you and then try holdiong him

hiya there. I have a light brown dutch rabbit ans she is so cute. She always licks me and my family and she licks my dads socks. She is so so so sweet. Her name is lady short for marmelade. She runs around my garden and when i come in from school she runs up to sniff me. Also, when my dad is in the garden gardening, Lady follows him around and once my dad was looking at what he had to do next and lady was sitting next to him looking as well and it was so so so so so cute.
She has a black stripe going across her back, shes very different from the other dutch rabbits. She loves everyone!
