I got a Havana bunny named Cupcake about three years ago from the Humane Society in Laveen, Arizona. I had always wanted a pet bunny when I was a child, but we moved around so much my parents wouldn't let me have one. Cupcake is amazing...I am so glad I got her! She is soft and sweet, and she is very curious about everything. My parents love to watch her for me when I go out of town (they call her their grand-bunny), and they always buy her new toys and treats. Everyone loves her, she even gets to come to the office with me sometimes. If anyone is thinking about getting a pet rabbit, I would definately recommend a Havana. I would also suggest checking out your local small animal rescue or Humane Society...you never know what you might find!

I want to buy a small pet but my mum doesn't want me to. I'm thinking of getting a mouse but my parents think they are too smelly my next option is a rabbit should I get one? And are they too expensive?

I've had a rabbit before and I'm going to get another one here in a week and they make great pets. Just do some research on them and you'll know what to expect the only real problem with them is they like to chew and get into things but as long as you keep an eye on it and bunny proof the areas it will be around it should be fine. Their cost varies depending on where you get it from and what kind you want but usually they don't cost much at all. Rabbits are wonderful pets, they don't bark and they can be liter box trained just like a cat. (:

I have 2 female rats, Covey and Ella.
Covey is 9 months old and Ella is 6 weeks old.
I would recommend a pet rat to anyone.
Covey is friendly and energetic whilst Ella loves to explore.
They are very clean creatures and do not smell like my pet mouse I owned earlier.

It may be that you don't clean his cage enough. I would recommend cleaning it every week. It could also be the bedding I would recomend hardwood shavings as they are warm and don't smell like some beddings such as hay or newspaper, but if it continues get some advice from a vet or qualified breeder although one of my rats urinates a lot in her cage and smells a bit so I have to wipe the cage down every day if this is the case it is nothing to worry about.

Not sure what you mean about cost, as you own both the rabbits. A breeder may be able to answer your questions best. You could check with the American Rabbit Breeders Association.
