Hi, loved your site found it really helpful. I have a goliath blondi, it's a female and she's a great spider. She's about two years old and has a leg span of about 2-3 inches, not too sure.
Was just wondering how long she would take to reach full size. Would be greatful if you could get back to me, thanks.

Wow. I have had my tarantula for almost eight years, and I love it. My Chilean Rose Hair was given to me by a friend when she couldn't keep her because of a moving situation, and I have come to love my eight legged pet. This particular breed of tarantula is quite docile, and a very friendly breed. I guess I am pretty fortunate in the fact that mine does not have mood swings, and loves to be taken out. I now have friends who come over and beg me to take her out, and they abosolutely love her. I was definitely fortunate in getting this arachnid, and will be getting another hopefully within the next week. Definitely worth it, and I would recommend this breed to anyone. They're amazing!

We have had our rose for 1 1/2 years and just found out his species last night. He has a personality and can be very moody. We simply keep our hands out of his cage when he's being pissy. His eating habits do worry me, though. He hasn't had much of an appetite for over 3 months. He molted 2 weeks ago (which explains the previous fasting) and he is still not eating. Also, he likes to play with his food.

I have just bought a Rose spider, I am scared of spiders. But this spider is so nice and graceful. I love it. But my spider is not eating and has a very dark bald path on his abdomen and does not do much accept crawl up into the corner. She is young. I am unsure of the age. I am going to ask the pet supplier. I am new to the spider pet world and I only bought the spider a day ago. Michael

I've been terrified of spiders all my life, and was pretty nervous when I moved in with my boyfriend and his pet rose hair "Jubjub". In the last year, I've had so much fun watching her feed and molt that I surprised my bf by doing a little research and setting up a larger terrarium for her, gently moving her with a really big aquarium net. I'm still too nervous to handle Jubjub, but I have a new appreciation for spiders. She's beautiful, entertaining, and low maintenance! I'm converted. Go for it ladies- get a spider.

My rose hair as been acting weirdly lately. she moves backward and the lifts her behind and draw lines with it in the aquarium. I've had my rose hair for about 12 years now and she never had that behavior. Can someone explain this behavior to me please?

I got a chilean rose a week ago to get over my strong fear of ALL spiders. It's a sub-adult at 8 months old and I have done a lot of research. I believe it's gonna molt as it's not eaten since I had it and is now getting grumpy and showing threatening behaviour, and isn't moving much either. Also its rump has gone darker with an ever darker bald patch. I can't seem to get the humidity above 64% but "psycho" seems to be okay. I have to wait for my red knee as it hasn't hatched yet at the stockists. I have now totally gotten over my fear of spiders and would recommmend chilean rose to anyone as a pet. They are docile when not in pre-molt stage but are not fast moving, so risk of dropping or injury is less likely. I just wish that I could be certain 100% that it's gonna molt.
