June - 2012-07-10 My daughter has a leopard gecko and I think it layed an egg today. It is the only lizard in cage. Is this possible?

Charlie Roche - 2012-07-10 Yes, it is certainly possible and not all that unusual. You have a female (obviously) and they will normally lay one or two eggs. The eggs (without a male) will not be fertile - just let her have them for a couple of weeks. If you think chickens, it will seem a little more normal. Females can have eggs without a male being around.
Ashley - 2011-11-02 The gecko is probably is sheding cause my is white to my gecko already shed once but not too long ago, So mine is sheding two times already but isn't that normal. So make sure your gecko got a hiding place for it to shed so it will be alot easier for the gecko. I got my gecko since last couple weeks ago an it started to shed once for about 2 weeks when got it but now I think it going to be shedded again soon. Like leopard geckos are uasally for beginners so you can get use to them. And don't put a male and a male together cause they will sometimes fight each other til they killed one or the other but for right now I only got one gecko so I can get use to this one before I get a another. But some people told leopard geckos are reallly hard to take care of them, Yeah you also need a 10 gallon tank to put the leopard gecko in so it will have enough room to chase the crickets around or the mealworms. I never gotten mealworms before cause I hate picking up the mealworm but I really like picking up the crickets. GOOD LUCK

Brooke - 2012-06-27 I just saying that you could use tweesers to pick up the mealworms.
Robert - 2012-05-28 The people who gave us their leopard gecko said it's albino, but it doesn't have red eyes. So is it truly albino?

Charlie Roche - 2012-05-29 An albino gecko is a species of gecko - which doesn't necessarily mean it is an albino. It is the coloring of the skin which makes it an albino so you can have an albino gecko without pink eyes. Here are some photos of various albino geckos and you can see they are very different Albino Gecko
Brooke - 2012-06-26 Actually, I don't think it matters if it has red eyes or not. You could also look at pictures of albino leos online and see if they have red eyes.
Robert - 2012-05-28 Hi, I just got a leapard gecko and he acts scared when I hand feed him his mealworm and then it's gone the next morning. Is this something to worry about?

Charlie Roche - 2012-05-28 As long as the meal worm is gone - and not the gecko - you are doing fine.
john - 2012-03-12 Hi, i really want one of these as a pet but not only do I want to take care of it, I want it to be happy and healthy with some friends(and maybe a husband or wife). The problem is, 1, I don't know the right tank size for a couple of them, 2, I would like to take them for a walk with one of those reptile leashes so he/she can be fit, 3, Are there other reptiles it could live with so the tank can have a variety of anikals and patterns will allowing them to get along, 4, I would like to breed them but don't want to have the problem I have my guppies which is constant breedings with many offspring, 5, can I keep them with plants and maybe in a semi-tropical enviorment(all the heat and humidity of a desert but the layout of a forest)?
justinT - 2011-02-27 Hi, I just recently bought two leopard geckos, I have everything set-up I was wondering can they be housed with other animals or should they be separated and just get a few more females?

Joey - 2011-06-21 You should separate male geckos from each other, otherwise they will fight to their deaths. You can share as many female geckos to one male as long as the space is big enough.

Charlie Roche - 2011-06-18 Don't take him out in the cold (they don't like it) and let him hang out on your t-shirt (while your wearing it). They are cool just haning out while you walk around or do whatever. He likes his human. Get a spotted shirt.... teasing.
arnold - 2011-05-21 Is there any health benifits that can get from gecko lizard. Here in Philippines there are reports that there are parts of that reptile can cure aids and cancer, is it true?

Charlie Roche - 2011-05-21 I don't know about ANY health benefits but there doesn't seem to be any research or scientific articles or publications to back up that there is any health benefits for a gekko with regard to cancer or aids.
Efren Ignacio - 2011-07-03 It's only talk of the town that some breed of reptiles are being used to cure aids and cancer. We have to know it. Lot of buyers were in town looking for Tuku.
Jack harness - 2011-06-17 Is there any vitamin or any medicine that can make my gecko grow faster?

Charlie Roche - 2011-06-18 You just feed them well and they will grow at their own pace just like us humans. Any supplement that promises to make them grow faster could be extremely detrimental to your little guy. Be patient feed him and he will just grow.
The Leopard Gecko is hardy and easy to care for, making it one of the best starter lizards!
