Most of this info is correct, except they do not hibernate; hatching is not as easy as they say. They go into diapause, a halt in development, and hatching could be 5-8 months. My oldest was 8 months. He's 10 months old now and growing fast. Never toss an egg no matter how long it's incubated unless you're 100% it's bad.
They are more aquatic than was most articles say. My group is kept in two Waterland tubs and often hang out in the water. They need water deep enough to cover their shell and substrate deep enough that they can dig and hide. Fake foliage will help them hide as well.

Whites Tree Frog- the Perfect pet!!
I'm a breeder of a number of species of snakes and Lizards. I breed specialist species like the Dwarf Spiny Tailed Monitor Lizard. I also breed Western Hognose snakes, fire skinks, Imperial and Buthid scorpions and on and off chinese mantids of different sorts. They are all fun and brilliant pets (Buthid scorpions aren't exactly strokable) but none more than my two new Whites tree frogs
"Laurel and Hardy".
They are obsessed with my face. They love to leap from my hand onto my face.
Seriously cute! Super easy to look after! Love a bit of attention although they do like their own space. Feed easily! By day they appear as a green blob of jelly on your viv wall, by night they are on the prowl for food and fun. Climbing all over each other is their No.1 favourite sport.

These tortoises are great! they are good handling, especially when acquired young. mine is very tame and she is nicknamed athene. she has a carapace of 2.5 inches. i keep her on my table while studying and she wanders on the table. these are best pets for beginners.

Also note that red-footed tortoses LOVE humidity. If your tortoise is kept inside or in an outside enclosure in an area with low humidity you must provide them humidity. If you can't provide a smoke machine/mister or frequent sprinklers, I have found it effective to turn a plastic container such as a trash can on its side, bury it a couple inches in the ground, and fill it up with mulch. Keeping the mulch wet all the time allows for a good humidified area that your tortoise can crawl into and regulate his own humidity. Enjoy your red-foot and take good care of him/her!

Charlotte is my first pet taranchula and i am finding that for a spider she has quite the personality. Once i take her onto my hands she rarely wants to go back into her home. She is amazing to watch, and i'm glad i decided to add her to my family.

I have two hentzi's and they are both very sweet. I have a 2.5 gallon tank for one as she's still small, only about 3 inches. When I went to get my nails done the kids there asked me to bring a spider that they could hold in their hands, so Calamity got to visit with a shop full of people. She took it very well and climbed from one hand to another like a perfect lady. She's great.

Pooh Bear :) - 2007-09-06
I just got my first leopard gecko about a month ago. Before I had an anole, cute but was never tame. Already I can easily hold him and he evens eats and licks calcium powder from a spoon. It's so cute and I absolutely love him. He has the normal colors, but he lost his tail in the pet store so it's growing back different colors. It's hilarious because he licks his lips so much and he plays with his reflection. :) He's a wonderful pet, and I HIGHLY recommend them to any reptile lover.

My Rose hair is 17 yrs old, had her for 3 years and she just had her first molt in my care. She did not flip on her back like I've read. She did seem a bit lethargic and didn't want to eat, so I had thought she might be sick...I did not expect the molt since she did't flip over. She is the most gentle creature I've ever had, very docile and slow. People are always surprised at how big she is.
