I have kept one of these orange-shoulder tangs for the past four years. I think it is probably one of the hardiest tangs I have ever kept - the fish eats greedily - flakes, brine shrimp, blood worms, pressed alga sheets, silver sides - whatever is in the water. It is a very easy keeper - very docile temperament. I have never seen this fish aggressive against others, or hostile to new additions to the tank - unlike my yellow tang who is very territorial. I would recommend acquiring a juvenile, and then you have the pleasure of watching it metamorphose into the adult coloration.

The fish will utilize the entire tank - constantly swimming and exploring. I have not seen mine graze - they seem to feed just on what I put in the water, plus the pressed alga held in a clip. They prefer green over brown or red. I have had one in a 75 gallon, moved to a90 gallon, and now have a young one in my 130 gallon. This is a great fish to add to your tank - and reef safe, in my experience.

This fish is a very sensitive fish. It is always hiding. And it gets sick and/or stressed out very easily.

Previous comment about being a Vlamingi Tang is way off. Lopezi Tang does great on zooplankton diet. However, this is one tang in the unicorn family that will not grow a horn. Couple of my customers have these tangs that are 8"+ and neither have sprouted even a knob on their head.

I bought a young clown tang a couple of months ago. It has about doubled in size, and just now starting to show some aggressive tendencies. But the odd thing about the fish is that it has become translucent. You can see the abdominal sack clearly as silver. Also, you can see the bone structure. I have never seen anything like this in a tang before. Has anyone else?

My Naso Tang is a beautiful fish. I just bought it a few days ago and I noticed that it was not eating, and I became nervous. I experimented with all types of foods - frozen, live, flakes and green seaweed and he just ignores it. Finally I tried some purple seaweed and he devours it.I hope that this information can be helpful to those who are having the same problem.

I have had my naso for four days now and he has been grazing and eating brine like little pig. He also gets along with my two other tangs, a yellow tang, and a hippo. They all do great together, but I also think depends on the persnalities of the fish.

My Powder Blue Tang (Perry) is awesome. I have had him for about a year and he is about 7 1/2 inches. His tank mates are two Clarkie Clowns and 6 snails. They just underwent a move to a new house and they are enjoying their new dwelling. Perry is just fun to have. His personality is one of a kind. He is the only fish that gets an attitude if you turn on the light too early in the morning, and wake him up. He will hide in the rocks and not come out if you are in the room. Anyhow he is a blast to watch!!
