I have been wanting to keep a blue-tang for months now and at last I found my target specimen, a 1.5 inch healthy which I bought for around US$2.67. The blue-tang is rare here in the Philippines and usually commands a high-price. I wanted a small one since my 150G AGA tank is home to small to medium size fishes. He is about 2 weeks now in my tank and very active swimmer. He eats flakes, spirulina and freeze dried blood worms. He lives in my gorgonian at night and swims all day together with my clowns, brown tang, lipstick and several varieties of damsel fish. I love my blue-tang and I hope he will live for a long time. cheers!

we are sick over the loss of my naso tang. he had the best personality, he would eat out of my hand and love to show off when he knew we were watching. he went to fish heaven this past sunday. he went into shock and never came out off it. we had him for almost 2 years. coolest fish in our 72 gallon reef tank. we did a water change of around 25 gallons this time no different from any other time, but for some reason he did not like it. he will be missed. for anyone thinking about gettting a naso, DO IT. - sarah & duke dellarocco

tallulah is the name of our very lively healthy clown tang. (although maybe borris is her name ...how do you know if its a male or female ??) anyway , royal of the tank it is. Likes to hang out with clowne fish, and isnt scared to tease simon, the banded shrimp. Likes to shelter in the biggest cave, and will makes her head turn black when feeling territorial. Extremely fast swimmer , loves her food and has a good sense of humour.

I have kept one of these orange-shoulder tangs for the past four years. I think it is probably one of the hardiest tangs I have ever kept - the fish eats greedily - flakes, brine shrimp, blood worms, pressed alga sheets, silver sides - whatever is in the water. It is a very easy keeper - very docile temperament. I have never seen this fish aggressive against others, or hostile to new additions to the tank - unlike my yellow tang who is very territorial. I would recommend acquiring a juvenile, and then you have the pleasure of watching it metamorphose into the adult coloration.

The fish will utilize the entire tank - constantly swimming and exploring. I have not seen mine graze - they seem to feed just on what I put in the water, plus the pressed alga held in a clip. They prefer green over brown or red. I have had one in a 75 gallon, moved to a90 gallon, and now have a young one in my 130 gallon. This is a great fish to add to your tank - and reef safe, in my experience.
