The Ocellaris Clownfish, False or Common Percula Clownfish, in its "normal" coloration, looks very much like another clownfish known as the True Percula Clownfish.
michelle - 2010-03-24 hi I need help if any one can help, I have set up a marine tank in june 09, I have got two commen clowns, three snails, cleanning shrimp and a royal gramma. I have found a jelly like bubble on the live rock in a hiding place, its about an inch either way, and its darker in the middle, its like the outer surface is protecting whats in the middle.
Quick question, Never maintained a salt water aquarium before. My son has a 24"x24"x24" tank. We moved it from his apartment to my home, since he's going to Afghanistan for 1 year.
We moved it on the 26th of Dec. 2009, The flamming angel has a white tip on it's face and beginning of tail is whitish. Thought it may have been stress due to the move, but has not regained color since. Bought some 100% organic fungicide for that.
The tank has been working fine. Last night my wife fed the fish. One small & one large common clown. This afternoon I found the large one on the floor, must have jumped out overnight.
Looking to replace it - But are they compatible separately? they were both as a pair.
Anonymous - 2008-09-17 Hi, dont know if anyone can answer this. I want to set up a marine tank and wondering if 2 percula clowns will be fine in a 60 lt tank to themselves.
Anonymous - 2008-06-17 I got my clowns a couple of days ago, cool little fish. they are very friendly and play with each other all day and even swim together. I don't know if this is normal, but I love them!
Callum - 2007-12-25 I got a small marine tank for Christmas yesterday with a clownfish and a yellow tail damsel. I realized it is a rare mis-barred clownfish. That makes me quite happy.
Missy - 2007-02-18 i've had my ocellaris for about 4 months now in a 30 gallon. he's very active and friendly. i've never seen him act aggressive towards any of my other fish, some of which are gobies and quite small. great fish for a beginner and anyone that wants a beautiful fish for a great price.
Miguel O. - 2006-12-21 ive had my clownfish for about 3 weeks but already they are the best fish i've had so far. they bring something to my aquatium that none of my other fish do, and so easy to take care of. im now going to try to breed them, hopefully everything goes good.
No Name - 2006-07-23 I got my clowns a couple of days ago, cool little fish. they are very friendly and play with each other all day and even swim together. I don't know if this is normal, but I love them!
Tyler - 2006-03-22 ie had my 2 false percs for a while now. ive had one for about 9 months and the other for about 6. they are doing great in my 30 gal semi reef tank. when i have new additions, they do seem a little nosey and show which part of the tank is theirs. they do eat anything and everything they can that i put in. my pearly jaw even has a little bit of a competition on getting misis when i put it in. i do say they are greedy eaters. but they are fairly nice and arent too aggressive. they are the perfect clownfish speices to have. they get along with many additions such my scooter blenny. depending on your clownfishes personality depends on what you can put in and what the most likly tank mates can be
Stu - 2004-05-05 My 2 I have can become quite territorial and bold. The female commonly nips at my hand when I need to get in the tank. But truely a captivating species.
