I've had a female blue devil for about six months now and she killed nearly every other fish in the tank except for a few shrimp and a bleny so I bought a snowflake moray but its not interested in the devil so today I got a male, he's awesome. They are very active, colorful and aggressive fish and I love em.

I was swimming yesterday in the coast and was wearing a colorful brown and orange dress. While swimming, I noticed a tiny little fish swimming around me and following me because he liked the colors on my dress. I decided to catch him and I took him home. Now I'm trying to research on this cute Sergeant Major Damsel. I love him && he seems to love me! (since he followed me home. lol.)

    Hi Valerie

I love these fish too. They captured my heart while snorkeling in Bermuda. They are very friendly and like to swim along with you. I am concerned that your fish should be in his natural habitat rather than in a contained environment.

I have one that was given to me for free because it was too aggressive. I have it alone in my 20 gallons frag tank and it is so aggressive that if I put my hand in the tank it will charge my hand and fake an attack and at the last minute it will turn and make loud "pop" noise and shake its body.

It attacks anything that moves, like if I put my brush in the tank to gently clean a coral it will attach the brush. The tips of my feather duster plumes are all trimmed out. I have never seen the damsel pick at it but this only occurred after I put the damsel in so I am guessing it is picking at my feather duster from time to time.

This fish should be left in the ocean, period, full stop. Don't buy it unless you want just one fish in your tank and not other sensitive animal.

I have one three striped Damsel along with 1 Devil Blue, 1 Domino and 3 Clown fishes. Before I bring my clown fish damsels were aggressive to each other but when I put 3 clown fishes they not seems to be aggressive to each other. Sometime I can see Domino is chasing other 2 but in front of clown fishes they behave as gentlemen

I have a female all blue damselfish (named Dolce), and I not only love her beautiful blue color, but her fairly docile, sometimes skittish attitude! She doesn't like newcomers at first (flares her fins, backs up to them and does a weird slapping with her tail) but gets over it quick and becomes the new fish'd best friend! lol She currently lives in a 55 gallon tank with a porcupine puffer, false percula clownfish, and a heniochus butterfly.

I have a breeding pair of these, and find they are very aggressive towards the smaller fish.
They always lay their eggs on the glass front of my aquarium, but also push all the live sand between their live rock and the egg laying area away into large piles.
I notice that they chirp loudly when threatened by other tank mates.

I have a aquaripure nitrate remover filter, I paid 300.00 for. I have talked with John, he is the guy you call if you have problems with the filter. We have emailed each other back and forth, the final result of this filter is a repoff, please dont get cheated like i did,the filter doesn't remove anything is all and I lost my 300. 00

Im from Australia, I got one of those Aquaripures and it is the best money ever spent. It worked for me, Ive had it running since setup and never seen any nitrates after it cycled. As I have lot of coral and 19 fish I think you may not have it set up properly.

I was given my damnsel as an adult with two tiny percula clowns from a friend, due to her taking down her tank and she had no where to take them. Sucker I know.... He is about 4" in size now and very protective of the two clowns he came with. He put the maroon clown I had already had in his place (who was known as Hitler reason implied). Hitler no longer gives me any trouble, however this Damsel from hell...aka Demonfish is much worse. The rearranging of the substrate and rocks is nothing compared to the fact that I have 4 fish in a 75 gallon reef tank. I can't add anything...crabs, snails, fish...nada. He terrorizes and destroys all that touches the water. Today...was the kicker, I was checking the status of a newly added snail, since he hadn't moved in three days, and I was bitten by this Demon fish on my forearm, and it was not a love tap like my clowns have done. He was pissed enough to break the skin. This fish is nuts, I have thought many times of what I could buy that was bigger and meaner that would eat him! Hmmmm Now mind you aside from his destruction he has his cute moments, he plays with the cats, interactively, chases their tales, taunts them, will follow your finger along the glass, and eat from your hand. But Truly not the fish I would recommend for everyone.

I have an orange tail blue devil, and he lives up to his name, he even bullies my flame angel! He is the only damsel I have ever seen eat from my hand, but can get carried away and nip on my arm while doing tank maintenance. He loves to tease my dogs when the come to check out the tank by swimming back and fourth across the tank. By far the most persenable damsel I've ever seen!
