I am head aquarist at The Fountain Hotel where we have a 1000 gallon marine tank. We have recently acquired a blue spotted ray and he really is a very nice looking fish. He will share the tank with a Bamboo Cat-Shark, who has just laid six egg cases, four yellow sailfin tangs, a Naso Tang, a Lion Fish and my biggest head-ache a Sgt. Major Damsel fish. He attacks just about everything, except our shark, and has avoided all attempts at capture. Back to the drawing board.

my black ribbon, is turning blue, he is eating large 3-4inch gold fish every other day. I started the eel on small feeders. He is the most amazing fish in my tank. if your having problems try hand feeding. it helps at first.

I added my sohal tang to my 55 gal live rock tank that (among other fish) a foxface, a coral beauty, and a purple tang had enjoyed peaceful relationships for over one year. I think that the sohal is going to kill these three fish (and the foxface is much larger than the sohal). I realize that a larger tank might be the answer, but based on my experience, I would not associate a sohal tang with any of the above three fish in a tank that was compromised by size.

We have had Rin and Stimpy (our two firefish) for 2 years in our 135 gal aquarium. They have been hiding in a rock off and on for over 2 months now. Today we realized why!!! We have baby fire fish about 1//4" long swimming near their rock. Shrimp is the only thing to ever reproduce in our tank. We are so excited. Hopefully a few of them will grow big enough to be safe in the tank.

happened to stumble across an excellent specimen, and could not pass it up, as i knew i would never see another one in such good shape anytime soon; not to mention the fact that i only paid $55 for a fish that would eaisly go for $90 plus any where else! I was worried at first that my existing tang (a 2.5 inch desjardin sailfin) and it would not get along. Within an hour the 2 were swimming about the tank! Talk about luck! Eats like a horse and is doing great!

I owned one of these for several months and was my pride and joy. A very beautiful fish and wonderful to watch/interact with. I had lots of rockwork for him to hide amongst and he loved every part of it. I had to trade him in unfortunately because he tried to eat my powder blue tang. As soon as the grouper was out of the tank in a quarantine tank (to allow the tang to become acclimated), all of my other fish that had been hiding all the time came out. I put two and two together, and unfortunately the answer meant trading him in to my local fish store for in store credit. Probably one of the best fish I have owned, I just wish I had planned better as far as compatability.
