Could someone please tell me if TBs(thoroughbreds) or WBs (warmbloods) are better show jumpers, and who are better all-rounders? Thank-you, Olivia

    I think WBs are slightly better jumpers but they both make good all rounders. This is just from my own experiences though...

    If I understand the info correctly the throughbreds are bred from defined warmbloods for specific sport whether racing or jumping so I would go on the basis of what the actual pony is bred for. Thoughbreds are normally bred for a sport. All rounders in handling riding personality is dependent on ancestry and breeding. Easier to judge by the parental linage. Hope this helps.

    WBs=jumpers TBs=all-rounders

    I am not sure on on who might be the better jumper but I now my throughbred trusts me and he would jump any thing I would ask him to and he would cross any river. I would hope I would know his limits.

    this is my opinion is that wb are better at show jumping and tbs are better at rounder

    TBs are often crossed with Irish Draughts to make Irish Sport Horses which are excellent all rounders and fantastic jumpers.

If you walk behind a Clydesdale you will see that its back legs are perfectly straight and not 'cow hocked'. They are said to be 'close behind' and they walk with one huge back hoof placed exactly in front of the other,just as if they were still walking along a single ploughed furrow.

I just bought a mini horse for my 6 year old son. It is a 2 year old mare and has temporary pedigree papers... how do you get permanent papers? It seems complicated, unlike my dog pedigree paper work. I'm not sure about showing or breeding my kid is 6...is it worth it to have papers? S  he is a great companion for my other horse, and a nice addition to our campgrounds petting zoo. Super cute. Any ideas or advice is appreciated.

    What a great addition to the petting zoo, and nice buddy for your other horse. I bet everybody will love him. I really think its up to you whether you get pedigree papers on it, probably only important if you plan on breeding it to sell pedigee offspring. Here's a good website that is one of the references for this site, MIniature Horse.com  which has info about  miniatur horse breeders, clubs, award and more.

My Holsteiner Story - 2012-01-29
I had a holsteiner mare. She died at 21 years, 3 months ago. I really miss her. In her life she had 2 foals. Her name was Kai.
