2-4% of their weight? A 1,000 pound Fjord would get between 20-40 pounds of feed a day! What am I missing here?

I have an 8 year old appaloosa and she is a pain in my butt she is so stubborn and she keeps betting up my 2 stallions. What do I do to have her stop that?

Maybe she is doing that because she possibly could be in heat and if that is not the case,....then don't put them out together....just put the 2 stallions out together and the appaloosa out seperately. I have an appaloosa at home to and I love her to death but.....ummmm yeah ur welcome.... :D

The post contains lot of informations about Marwari horses. but i think it need some more Addons, 1. First of all marwari horses are 15 hands or above high, normally its 15 to 15.5 or 16 hands, I met a marwari horse who have 16 hands hight in 23 months. 2. This horses not bred for dancing, they are bred for battle, The dancing steps of marwari horses came from the battle movements of horse which protect it's master from elephants and other enemies by quick movements. 3. Most of people believe Marwari horses have blood relation with Arabians. but some says its originated in india (they shows its curved ears. If this horses cross breed with any other breeds, It will loose the curve in second generation). 4. Even they are light horse, they are well known for its slim / Athletic body shape and high stamina and strong hooves keeps them strong. we did some experiments with retired thoroughbreds and marwaris and we find marwaris keeps a normal speed even after 1 hour (Thoroughbreds fall after 15 mins). 5. I wondered about a special gate of marwari horses its called 'REWAL', It provide master more comfort and less movements. 6. My friend fall from marwari while full gallop and suddenly horse stopped and take stand, friend escaped without any critical injury. This is one of the best attraction of marwari horses they are very intelligent. 7. But its hot blood character is very very danger, no one can predict them and i never took even a stick in front of them (i use my cane for Thoroughbreds but scared with Marwaris).

Thanks Yaseen for all this awesome info! I'll see if we can get some of it included above... like that great stuff about their being bred for battle, resulting in the dancing movements. How cool that is to know:)

I have had several types of horses, but mostly crosses. They all needed similar basic care as far as feed, being shod, and health. Not sure if there are any extra details for a Friesian, maybe more grooming?

Marwari's are known for their gallop, their stance and their speed so I'd say they go fast.

There is a place in South Dakota where they give mustangs to kids and they can show them but after a couple of years they have to give them up and they are sold to work at ranches or stockyards. It was amazing!!! The kids learn so much from it.

    Catch one!
  • Charlie Roche - 2012-01-27
I am ot sre you are just allowed to go'Catch them' as in many areas theyre protected. There are many indivduals who home these amazing creatures' to prevent them and foster them. The last time looked they ran around $300 but that is unbroken.

Check the BLM website :) I'm probably getting one from them. They're lovely horses!!
