I have a chow-chow she is the best dog I have ever had. Her name is Princess and boy does she think she is the princess. I just love her she has given me a lot of joy.

We just got a 1.5 year old female Boston Terrier and we couldn't ask for a more loving playful dog, although she does have issues being in a crate or being left alone. She poops in her crate as soon as she is left alone, even if she just went prior to being left alone. Anyone with any advice feel free to advise. She is not going anywhere, it would just be nice to fix these issues.

Maybe this will work get a smaller crate.....the one you have may be too large, dogs generally do not go in their sleep area.

We got our first Lhasa two months ago. This was before I learned much about them. I have to say that much of what I have read is true about Lulu, my 3 year old female. She is a great watch dog and is extremely loyal to us, but is very skidish towards others. She does fine with our cats but is hesitant about our other dog. He is an Australian shepard and is very energetic, she is growing more tolerant of him but usually turns her nose to him. Although most of what I read is true she loves my kids and all the friends they invite over. She has turned into one of our most loved pets.

I would like to point out that not all Shar pei hate water. I have had four Shar pei all of which were introduced to water and swimming early. I think this is a behavior that can be modified if introduced early.

I have both a male and a female shar pei. Both are rescue dogs. When I first got them, they wouldn't go near the water. As time went on, with daily walks down to the water, the boy has developed a love of the water - going deeper and deeper and finally swimming (with me at his side). The girl will still only get her paws wet.

I have a litter of 9. When I gave them a wash in the sink, 3 or 4 of them actually enjoyed it. The others sounded like they were in pain, and were shaking in fear. So I guess it's on the individual dog.

I would like some information on the Bull-mouth sharpei. I can't find anything on them or what they are about. My dog is a bullmouth and I would liek to learn more about him and his skin conditions..

I think you may be referring to what the chinese call 'bullfrog' or 'toad' mouth. These are just different names for what we call 'meat mouth'.

I am a little new to chows my pup is 6 month just got fixed. And in the 3 months we have had him we might have got 2 hand fulls when combing him. And rarely ever see fur on the floor.

Chows have been in my family for years. That are extremely loyal and protective. They are also very territorial so it is probably best to domesticate them as puppys if you would like them to be "people friendly". The chow in the picture is beautiful!

I have had a chow for 9 years best dog I have ever had. Make sure you train them well yourself they can be clingy. Don't worry give it 6 months to a year there will be hair everywhere make sure you brush him a lot.

This breed is incredibly lovable but be warned they are highly territorial and they shed ALOT. In my opinion these setbacks are totally worth it, they love unconditionally and seem to have the most unique personality found within the non-sporting breed.

After a life time with other breeds my wife got us a Dally. At 70 I felt it was a bit much for me to handle. All I can say is 3 years later we've just got another one. They need time and exercise, but it's time well invested.

Not only are they extremely loving (unconditional) and territorial, they are more intelligent than any breed that I've owned. I currently have my third "Dal" in a row now and don't have plans on getting any different breed in the future. Something to strongly consider when thinking about getting one is that they are highly energetic and often take about 5 years before they calm down and become an "ideal lay around" family dog. They require lots of exercise daily and you should have a nice fenced in area where they can play and run.

They are wonderful around children and are very protective of their families.

If you have the time, patience, love, and space to offer this dog.....I can't recommend this dog enough. I'd glad talk to anyone considering one.
