We got our first Lhasa two months ago. This was before I learned much about them. I have to say that much of what I have read is true about Lulu, my 3 year old female. She is a great watch dog and is extremely loyal to us, but is very skidish towards others. She does fine with our cats but is hesitant about our other dog. He is an Australian shepard and is very energetic, she is growing more tolerant of him but usually turns her nose to him. Although most of what I read is true she loves my kids and all the friends they invite over. She has turned into one of our most loved pets.

I've grown up with Chihuahuas. I got my first one about 4 years ago and since that shes had two liters of pups. My dad kept one of the first ones. He was a long hair and we all loved him very much. Just last friday he got hit and dad is so upset over it so we're trying to get a male long hair to breed with Misty, my dog. Wish me luck

My chinese crested powderpuff puppy (8 months) loves greek yougurt in her dry food (I only put 1/4 tsp with water). Will this cause any problems?

We adore our big wooly bear dog. Pablo, our 3 year old Giant Schnauzer, follows us from room to room, obeys very well (except for the occasional selective hearing if he air sniffs an irresistable scent). Giants are the absolute best breed for any family who desires a dog that will be actually under your feet. . . literally!!

They are neat pups - good personality and non barkers and lay around with the family.

I want to get a bull terrier and a friend has one that's nine months old... I'm afraid that's too old ... What do you think ?? Will it be hard to train? Can I teach it a new name ? Could it be dangerous around kids??

The benefit to nine months is you can see/hold/watch etc the pups personality. 9 months is pretty young and at least at that age, there should be bladder control. Is it housebroken? Bull Terriers are usually pretty stubborn, independent dogs that require a strong, consistent trainer. Can you teach it a new name - easily. Could it be dangerous around kids? Yes. Any animal can be dangerous but it seems the bull terrier has the leading reputation in this regard. Some dogs are much easier to have around children and are known to get along great with children. The bull terrier is not one of them. They require strong leadership, strong training, strong discipline and they are not inclined to adapt well to new people so they require a lot of socialization. They do not like commotion. They prefer a consistent, organized lifestyle. They can be snappy and they frequently snap without provocation. Some folks absolutely love and adore their bull terriers but they are devoted, patient, and excellent trainers.

I have a rescued red heeler mix we found in a garbage bag with a rope tied around his neck and a rope tied around the bag. He was a puppy, and he has been neutered and has all shots and is healthy. He will snap for no apparent reason and attack another dog. All my dogs are rescues, neutere or spayed with all shots up to date. I had to take a little chihuahua rat terrier mix that came up to our house to a no kill shelter, because Champ tried to kill him. What can I do to help this situation. We love Champ and he loves us.

This little fella had a rough start and hate to hear these kind of things. Some folks are just cruel. The Heeler/Cattle Dog mix is an independent breed and they don't really do well with other dogs. Some will become agressive with other dogs or with people they don't know. They also are usually a one person dog. It is also a herding animal or a working dog and they do snap/growl/circle or whatever to keep the HERD in line. It is their nature. I would consult a behaviorist or a trainor as you would be trying to stop a natural behavior that is a part of this pup. Genetics for centuries. You see Chihauhau and Champ sees stranger/threat. I wouldn't know of anything else to do accept consult a behaviorist/trainer or allow Champ to be an enviornment where his genetics and protective behaviors are a plus.
