I have a St. Bernard Shepperd mix. She is such a cute sweet heart. We got her as a puppy. She was a little bit of a dog, then she turned a lighter brown and was named bitsy.

We have 2 Giant Schnauzers and one mini-schnauzer. Our male giant just had his second toe removed and we are waiting for biopsy results, but expect it is skin cancer, the same thing that caused the removal of his first toe six months ago. Never knew black dogs were more susceptible to skin cancer. We hope this will be his last bout with cancer.

We have a 4 month old female Americian Pitbull Terrier. By far one of the smartest dogs I have ever owned. Sleeps with our mini Rex rabbit.

We've had 2 beagles for years...the first one, a female, we got in december 2005 and the other one, a male, we got in september 2006. At first the female didn't really accept her new pal, for he was tiny, and she was growing and was used to being the only pup, but it didn't take long for the pair to become best buddies. They often play together, or with us, or with our 21 months old son, although the female seems to be kind of scared of him! They don't like when we go out and leave them alone, even though they are together. the male still pees in the house sometimes, and it just aggravates us! but mister needs to mark territories! The female is vicious when she eats, and we're teaching our son that when the dogs eat, he's not to go near them or worse, touch them (anyways, they have their meal once he's in bed). We don't give them bones when our son is playing around them, cuz they can get quite possessive of their bone and we don't want to risk accidental biting of our child. In the end, they are great, happy dogs and we just adore them!

If she won't eat or drink anything then I would get her to the vet as soon as possible as there could be an obstruction from something she swallowed. However, if she is eating just a little piece of toast for breakfast and a little bite of sandwich and a little sip of milk etc - these guys are very tiny and that stuff is so much better than dog food and water. Then she is eating - If she is not eating anything - get her to the vet.

I have a male chihuahua who is also a fussy eater. A lot of times he gets tired of his dog food so I frequently switch to other brands. When he gets tired of dog food, I'd boil chicken breast with a little salt. He loves it!

My dog Nico is 15 months and also is a fussy eater. Too many tricks deter him from his food. But when hungry he will eat. Make sure you have lots of water - they drink a lot.

My husband and I are parents to two short-haired chi, a male and female. The male chi-'Bass' is small weighing only 3 pounds while the female, 'Pearl' weighs 6lbs. They are loveable dogs and are very loyal. At night when I have to get up to go to the bathroom, Pearl wakes up and goes with me. They are with me wherever I go. The male dog sleeps with us while the female sleeps under our bed. We bought a male long-haired pup recently to complete our pack. I love these small dogs and won't settle for any other breed.

Hi, I just became an owner of a 2. 5 month old rednose. He is so cute. I have a one month old, a 2 year old and 4 year old gd. Children who live with me as well as a 93 year old mother. Will this dog be okay with them? Also, how do I potty train this dog? I do know somethings about training ie. Have hand signals to go with words like 'no', 'sit' and I know they need excercise so I have a yard to play with him in.

I have two red nosed. They were adults when our first child arrived and it was a source of anxiety for me also. We had a bitch and one of her first puppies. They were 10 and 6 years old...The mother, used to sleep under the cot and if she wasn't inside, she slept at the bottom of the window. Take him to obedience and train him to listen to commands as they can be excitable and they sometimes forget that they are not a maltese! Get your children involved in this training as the dog will then listen to all the family members, not just you.
Potty training....persistence, take him outside often and tell him to go just like any other dog. We had our girl trained to walk to the door, sit and speak if she wanted to go outside. It is all repetition...and that takes time.

So I have a Red nose pit I don't think she is the American Terrier but when I first got her she was so loving and kind I noticed however when I gave her a bath she nearly flipped she was shaking and trying to flee anywhere she could she also wouldn't come near her water bowl if I were filling it or standing near it while it was full. After a while she lets me bathe and water her but only me I want my boyfriend to be able to do this for her too but even after month of trying she still doesn't trust him, any advice?

Have your boyfriend reward with treats and play before he tries to bathe or discipline.
