My black labradoodle Lottie was on a walk when she got stung by two wasps on both her legs. She kept lying down and now she's lying down, licking her paws a lot and panting loads. I'm worried about her-is she in pain? Advice would be really helpful as me and my family are worried about her. Thank you

Are you sure the stingers are out? If the stinger is still in that could definitely be a problem. Also, the bites itch. My concern is the panting - she could be allergic to the sting. If she is panting, I'd take her to the vet.

Thank you. She seems to have calmed down a bit now and isn't panting as much. I appreciate all of your help and advice. Thank you again

My friend had a mastiff they named 'Hooch' but had to give him away because they had to move to a rental. I have seen mastiffs around and
I love them; they're very theraputic and gentle. I only wish my friend would get another one for the rental they're in because they take care of my autistic daughter who LOVES mastiffs and all even-tempered dogs.

Hello I have a 2 year old hairless Chinese crested male dog which is 17 lbs. and has taken to not wanting to eat. He has lost most of his teeth now and so kibble is out of the question. He won't touch canned dog food and I have wasted a lot of money on making food that he won't touch either. I'm pulling my hair out. My opinion the vet isn't sure what to give him either. He went from having a great appetite to eating very little and he needs to see me eat it first or he won't touch it and I'm not eating dog food sorry. Please give me some suggestions cause he's only eating meat that's it.

Wild dogs/wolves hunt and they hunt for meat. That is their mainstay and they do quite well. If your little fella only wants to eat meat then let him. I'd just cook up some hamberger (or ground turkey)for him. That way you can taste it (or pretend to) and he can eat it. If you wish - a little yogurt over the top or mixed in won't hurt at all. At 17 years old - I think he should have his own way.

Love your puppy a lot. If it was the other way around he'd still love you and take care of you if you were the blind one.

I know you feel terrible and I know this is hard but it is much harder for you than the pup. I have seen blind dogs (dogs that could not see anything at all) and I had a totally blind cat. They had no problem at all. They do not know they have a problem. They adjust. You obviously can't let your dog out to go running around the neighborhood but you didn't before. Your pup will be on his leash and just walk right beside you like hehas always done making even better use of his sence of smell and hearing. He will find you in the home and find his way around the home. Maybe sometimes you will hear him bark because he is in a room and forgot where he was but just call his name and he will come to you. You know there is a problem and for us humans it is a very difficult problem. However, for your pup, with your love, he will be the same wonderful little creature he has always been. Don't cry - give him a hug.

I have raised a blind from birth pug pup who lived for 7 years and it was the best 7 years of my life. Your girl will adjust. Eyesight is as important to a dogs as the sense of hearing and smell. When you state "they are good with other pets", you better make sure parakeets are not included. Our bichon ate our parakeet WHOLE this Saturday in from of friends and family. He is 6 yrs. old and very jealous. I will never be able to have another pet in the house. This was very traumatic.

I have an applehead, Molly, I have had her for about 3 wks. My niece had to find her another home, because her landlord didn't allow pets in the house. I am still learning Molly's ways. I am having trouble with Molly using the outdoors for her bathroom....lol...she has become attached to me, my mom; my son. Mom is too old to take her out, so my son or I will take her. She has let me know one time that she had to go. We love her dearly, but how do I house break her? Molly is 2 yrs. old.

You can try and crate train her which would prevent her from going in the home and then reward her when she goes outside. Some have had good luck with the wee wee padds and placing them by the door you take her out of. Then move the wee wee pad outside. The idea is to watch her and prevent her from going inside. Crate works and is a safe place. If you see her going in circles and sniffing, grab her and get her outside.

I just got mine at around 5 weeks ago. She is the love of my life! She's almost housebroken & learned yesterday to dance on hind legs for a treat. But I rewarded her with a treat ( very small) every time she went potty outside. But have to watch for signs. She still has a few accidents but just a few. I've never had such a smart dog!

I live in AZ and it is relatively warm, but I still trained Rose to pads. She'll go outside when the weather is good, but in the cold, or at night she uses the pads. Chihuahuas are prone to hypothermia. In cold environments they should use pads.

How much do i feed my one year old black lab Sadie?

It depends on the type of dog food and how much your pup weighs. There should be directions on the bag of food. Also depends on how much toast and treats you are giving. A treat now and then is OK but too much detroys a nutritional diet.
