What a great cat! It's hard to tell what exact breed he is unless you know where he came from, and then you can ask the previous owner, but he does look Maine Coonish. And what a unique and special personality!

I adopted a 5 yr old Turkish Angora. She is white with one blue and one gold eye. They say on here (the video) that they don't need much grooming, however, my Lilly sheds like crazy leaving the chair she claimed as her 'throne' white. Also I find balls of fur everywhere lol. Well I also have two black British Bombay cats and one Black and White long hair cat and they shed a lot less. Other than that, she is the best kitty ever. She licks you and hugs you and she loves to what I call 'Happy Paw' for confort. She def. took charge over the other cats as the Alpha cat. LOVE this breed, just wish the fur would stop flying. ahhahah!

She sounds adorable, but then... I'm partial to long-haired gorgeous cats too:)

    She is !! :)

I have a bombay and he is the coolest little kitten. My daughters talked me into him after years of hating cats and never wanting one, I have to say I am glad we adopted him. I have READ that the Angora breed does not get its full coat till around 2 years old which might be when it stops shedding so bad. I also read that they will shed a lot more in hotter climates. If that helps I don't know.

You should get furgopet comb, it helps A LOT. I tried many different brushes and mitts. This one works so well and even my other short hair cat likes it. I found two angora kittens so I have a lot of brushing to do ^.*

I have a beautiful young female Russian Blue that bred with a grey Tabby. Her Kittens are beautiful and are reversed tabbies , silver blue light grey and are reversed tabbies with whithe stripes instead of black or dark stripes. The girls are gorgeous, with all the features of her HER. ONE HAS THE HEAD AND EARS AND SLIM BODY BUT NOT THE PINCH SMILE. THE OTHER HAS THE PINCH SMILE BUT IS TAKING AFTER THE FATHER WITH A ROUNDER HEAD AND STALKIER BODY BUT THE FACE FEATURES AND EVEN THE SOUNDS THEY MAKE WHEN THEY MIAO ARE SPECIFICALY RUSSIAN BLUE. VERY VOCAL LIKE THEIR MOTHER. DO I HAVE SOMETHING SPECIAL. CAN THEY BE RECOGNIZED AS SUCH . TO ME THEY ARE AND JUST THE FACT THAT THEY HAVE REVERSETABBIE MARKINGS MAKES THEM VERY DISTINGTIVE. CAN THEY BE SHOWN ANYWHERE. DOES ANY BODY KNOW OR EVEN SOLD AS UNIQUE AS THEY ARE_

In order to show a cat, the cat has to be a recognized breed by the ACFA (American Cat Fanciers Association) or the TICA (The International Cat Association).  You would obviously have to be able too reproduce the kittens you have, have the markings, coloring, size etc stablaized to allow rules for points to be established.  This is a complicated and long term endeavor but you can write either organization and ask them and if interested, how you would go about it.

Ms.Gesia Rosenberg, I know this is quite a few years late. But would you have pictures of your 'babies'? Did you sell any kittens? If so, may I ask:How much? And where are you? I'm in VA. 56 years old, been disabled since I was in car crash at 25. I would be interested in some (2?) of your kittens if you ever have more, and the price is right. (I have very little $,but a LOT of love.) Have 2 dogs, but they are 'daddies babies'! I love them, too, just not the same. Thank-you in advance, Kris Behrens

Cool I have two of them too. Also a brother and sister. Katie and Captain.

I've got two cats as well named Emily and Grace. They're sisters. They're both shorthaired tabbies. Grace is a ginger and Emily is actually a tabby tortoiseshell called a Tobby. Meaning she's got orange and brown stripes. They're really cute. I just got them.

A beautiful tri colored cat came to my door for breakfast this morning and he stayed - doesn't seem to want to leave. He's litter box trained and very comfortable with me and my pomeranian dog. I've contacted our shelter and animal control to let them know where he is? If his people are looking for him? He's skinny and ate all Gizmo's blue buffalo grain free tiny bites. I'd love to keep this cat but need a good source of kitty info as I've never been owned by a cat before. The vet is coming to see him tomorrow to check his health and give him shots. He seems to be in good shape except for underweight and his back paws are very dirty.

I used to do a lot of fostering...birds, cats and dogs. I just rescued a 3 week old kitten during a deluge. Poor thing was hypothermic. Anyway, if you have any questions, feel free. Hope your girl is doing well! Frankie

What great Maine Coon stories!~ We, too, love our silver tabby, Fantasia /Fancy. She is 11 1/2 and still going strong. She weighs around 15# and has brought untold joy to us. Every-one loves her, and she chooses those who will be graced with her attention. The chirping is so cute! She bonded with our Husky as they were raised indoors together and still remembers her even though Xena is now outdoors in her one acre corral. Three other cats share her domain, and she rules with an iron paw. They are, indeed the perfect pet for a family. Her main interest is her food bowl! She has an uncanny sense of time (when it's time for us to rise and shine) and won't quit until we do...yes, the tail is exquisite as is the gorgeous coat and eyes. We also love the tufted ears and paws---huge. All your stories mirror our experiences with our special girl. They have quite the purrsonality.

I have a cat and was told by my vet that she looks like an abyssinian cat. I have been researching these cats and do see similarities. She has the ticking and rabbit like coat and is extremely soft. How can I find out for sure?
