I adopted Snowhite and Prince Charmin at a local rescue shelter. They are brother and sister and are almost 1yr. old now. They are amazing! They treat my Malteese as one of them. The male has one blue eye and one green. The female has green eyes. I just found out they are Turkish Angora's through reserch. I have owned cats all my life and knew these two were special. I thought it was unusual that they came running to play with the water coming out of the kitchen faucet. They run to the door to greet each guest and have to check out every shopping bag brought into the house. The male is larger then the female and has longer hair so far. They are BEAUTIFUL!!

I have an adorable 11-year-old Cornish Rex. She is still playful and boisterous as the day I brought her home when she was 6 weeks old. Very vocal, very affectionate, and very talented. She can open doors with her paws!

Even people who don't like cats love my kitty. She's just that good!

We have a 12 year old Chocolate Havana Oriental Male Cat. It wasn't until recently that I was informed, by a vet, that this breed of cat of the male gender is quite rare as they tend to be female. He is a delightful cat. He's not that vocal but when he is his voice sounds more like a wolf's howl than a normal cat meow. He's extremely tolerant of our children's overwhelming affection. He loves being outside and tries to get outside particularly at night time. He has very strong dog characteristics often been seen taking walks with us, without a lead, always walking ahead to check that the coast is clear before returning to us briefly only to repeat this routine many times over. He loves his food and until you pick him up doesn't look as though he'd be that heavy, but most of his weight is in muscle. I would recommend this breed as ideal for a house pet and particularly if you have children, they love attention.

I wrote towards the end of last month about us losing Snowdrop. Well since then we have taken in 2 Turkish Angoras (Ice and Snow)!!
I think at first my wife hoped they would be just like Snowdrop but its amazing how different in character they are!! They are so funny. We think that they are father and son and let me tell you the son gives the dad a hard time!!
We will also shortly be bringing home a Westhighland Terrier. I am convinced that it was Snowdrops legacy to make us once again a happy home.

My daughter had a beloved Scottish Fold Cat named Louie. Louie lived for about 14 years. When my daughter graduated from college, she left Louie with us until she was settled in her new location. We had a Yellow Nape Parrot and before we knew what was happening, Louie and the Yellow Nape had become fast friends. They would spend the day together curled up with one another. I wouldn't recommend putting a cat with a bird though and especially not a yellow nape because they do have fierce bites and most are not as gentle as our yellow nape. However, when my daughter had children Louie seemed to change his behavior and spent most of his time in the closet. He would only visit in the evenings and the cat would never, ever drink from a bowl. He wanted only fresh water from the facet - drip, drip, drip. Louie could only have certain cat foods because of too much of something which I seem to remember was ash. It would cause severe kidney problems. Scottish Fold Cats are beautiful great pets.

I have recently bought a mixed breed cat, I was struck by his unusual black/brown stripes which alternate from short brown fur to long black fur. He has long black fur along his back and on his tail which appears to be becoming plumed. He is pointed black. He is not your usual tabby and I have been trawling the internet for hours trying to determine where his very unusual looks come from. The havana brown is the closest I have come, and a picture of a havana brown kitten that I found is the spitting image of him except for the points. He is very elegant in appearance with a wedge shaped face and long nose. His ears are large even for an 11 week old and his eyes are slightly slanted, one eyes width apart and appear to be turning green. He has unusually long limbs and tail with big oval paws. He is very intelligent and even learned to play fetch at nine weeks old after an hour playing with a screwed up lottery ticket. He is the exact temperament of a havana brown - extremely loyal to me, very soft voice, not destructive, gentle, affectionate and talkative, loves to play games such as tag and fetch, is fascinated by paper and card and learns extremely quickly. I have no idea what breed is mixed in to him only that his mother was a tortoiseshell short hair.

I have a brown cat but I don't know if it's a Havana brown. She is exactly what they had described her as, but she is the daughter of a Calico cat and I don't know who the father is. I'm on this website because I wanted to find out how rare brown cats really are and I wanted to know how many other breeds of cats have browns, if any.

Snowdrop came to us as a young cat no more than 6 months old. She turned up on our doorstep. We took her to the local vets and posted signs around our village where she could be found. No one ever claimed Snowdrop and she has been with us for 4 years. During this time she amazed us with her personality and antics - opening lever handles on doors and even partly bathing with my wife!!
Unfortumately she was run over and killed last week. We are all devastated by this loss especially my younger son, Tom and Liz my wife. She was a most loyal and loving companion. We have lost one of the family.
