I found a litter of ocicats that had been abused and dumped. All but one had to be put down so I was able to keep her. They are wonderful cats, good temperament and extremely easy to train, I didn't even need to bother much at all. They are quite dominant over other cats and apparently they don't grow much at all, as my cat stayed the same size as when I first found it at 2 months old. The vet then confirmed it was an Ocicat and that was why.

    Dear Kathryn:
Good work on your find, always a wonderful thing to be kind to these poor cats when they are abused by unknowing, uncaring people. I take in feral cats in Orange County, California, they seem to find me one by one. All scared of people but they sure know where the food is. Also a nice young opossum and four raccoons seem to know where the food is too. Why not, it's fun and not really that expensive! Blessings, Wendy

As the owner of an Am. Shorthair, I have to say that over my life, they have made a fabulous impression. When I'm not comforted by purrs and warm fur, I'm laughing about her antics, or amused by her 'superiority complex'. I live in a small place, and she's a champion bug hunter - Cockroaches beware!

I love dogs very much, but for my money, its my Am. Shortie who keeps me going day to day!

update on Koko - my Havana Brown baby - up to 10 pounds, at 8 months. my grandson got a kitten for Christmas; Koko tried to kill it and hid all its toys. they were rolling around on the floor playing by the time they went home.

My son has a small black cat that resembles the Havana
Brown. Pheobe is now eight years old. She friendly with my son, and his
partner, and she allows them to pick her up. I am wondering if she is an off
spring of a Havana Brown that mated with another breed.

Most cats will quickly learn to use the litter box, it's instinctual for them. Place the cat in the litter box several times so he knows where it is, and then again after each time the cat fails to use it, it usually only takes a day or so. Turkish Angoras are very smart and will pick it up quickly. Ours asks to go outside when he has to go to the bathroom, or in an emergency will only go in the sink.

We got our cat about 1 year ago and hes a real joy to have in our house he loves to follow me around into my room and lay with me. He doesn't mind behind picked up or sat on a lap he just loves to be around people and likes to stare at the fish for around 20 minutes a day. BUT he is a little goofy if you play with a paper ball throwing it over him he will do flips trying to get it and eventually get frustrated and just act like hes walkin away but when you set it on the ground he shoots back like a bullet. ironically enought before we knew what type of cat he was we named him Coon cause he has black fur with gray spots and striped and looks just like a ratcoon.

I am starting some interesting research on the African Serval Cats and was wondering if anyone out there could answer my question. What, if any, is the difference between the Serval and Savannah? Is it that the Savannah is breaded with domestic cat and Serval is pure bread from Africa? Are they considered hypoallergenic cats? How can I get intouch with a proper breaderand get more info?

Janie's cat may be a Deep Woods Tabby, beautiful cats but really unusual looking. The Havana Brown kitten I commented on, is now about five months old and developing all the characteristics, but has a "fever coat." He was really sick when I got him, and had trouble keeping his temperature up, so it should probably be described as a "stress coat," white hairs scattered evenly throughout except on the head, feet and tail. It will be interesting to see if it all goes back to semi-sweet chocolate! All I know is, if he is a "puppy cat" he is a Labrador - into everything.
