my mom has two of these sweet little birds, that she takes outside and hangs in a tree every day. The birds love it and other birds have even come to visit them. One day when she brought them in at the end of the day we noticed that the male bird was missing! We were very upset and looked every where for him, not expecting to find him. The next morning while sitting on the deck we hear the little bird calling for his mate, and sure enough there he was sitting in a tree looking very sad. She brought his cage outside and he flew over to it and she carried them back in the house! We never did find out how he got out, or where he spent the night! We all wish that little LB, "little bird", could talk!
i have 8 pairs of zebra finches and more eggs on the way. i love each and every one of them as i have 1 CFW, 1 WHITE, many PIEDS, and many NORMALS. i have a large aviary and at least 15 nest boxes. i have around 5 eggs from my current 3 clutches

I have 2 pairs of finches. All 4 are zebra finches. We just got another pair today. The pair that we got are babys so its going to take a while until they can breed. I can't wait till night to see if they start fighting. Their names are George, Kiara (1st pair) and Jack, Linda (2nd pair). Every time I wake up I always here George singing. When we got George I could tell he was scared. Kiara was also scared. When we put them in the cage they both started to fly around. They are so cute.
I have 2 finches, and they are the best birds ever
Just two weeks ago I have adopted a one year old male zebra finch from my work. He was up for adoption because he was born with only one foot, however he walks and perches as well as any other finch. He is sweet and loves to chirp to me in the morning. I have been cautious on whether to keep him single for life or to find him a mate. I am afraid that because of his handicap, he would not do well. But I know that no matter how much attention and care I give, I can not replace the company of another finch for him.
I did have a zebra finch but it died. im not sure what it died of but i know that it wasn't old age because we have had him for 8 months. i really miss him. i loved him to death. i have other pets to love. i have a russian hamster her name is pepper and i have a dog his name is bandit and i have a beta fish his name is patrick or spongebob i can't remember.
I have the sweetest little female zebra finch imaginable. She is now four years and three months. When she was about five weeks old and could not fly very well, I let my birds out for some exercise, and she flew into another room into a lamp. She unfortunately was injured and would not eat, so I hand fed her. (Handfeeding is very difficult and extremely dangerous, so I only recommend doing it if there is no other way. The risk of aspiration is too great.) She will sit in my hand and I can pet her and hold her. She loves when I rub her head and will actually regurgitate and try to feed me. This is really unusual for a finch and I thought she was sick at first, but this is during cuddle time. I love her. :)
i love my zebras! they are so fun to watch and listen to. i started out with a pair but after having them for a month i bought 3 more pairs and had a cage built for me. it is 6 1/2 ft tall, 5 ft wide, and 3 ft deep. by the end of the year we had about 30 birds but sadly only 5 survived the winter, 4 males and 1 female. the girl paired up with one of the boys and they now have 2 babies. i recently bought 3 new females and they have been taken into the colony perfectly. The 3 other males are REALLY enjoying that, they were really excited! i also have 2 diamond doves in the cage with them. they were supposed to be a pair but i think they are both males which is fine with me because they are beautiful anyway.
I started with a normal cock and a white hen and they have bred 5 birds since february and have now started building again with 2 eggs at the minute. These birds are easily bred and great to watch. Also nice to see alot of them snuggled up on a perch together and preening each other.
