I am bird sitting for some friends, its a green bundgie, it seems to have either pulled its leg, or is it possible for a bird to have a stroke? It can not get on the top rail, sits on the bottom of the cage, seems like it is going to fall of its perch, its not that old of a bird, 3 - 5 years, what is the life span of this bird? Oh and it was like this when I took him in...his feathers seem to be all messed up, not pulling at them, but, not healthy looking at all...

My husband just bought me a Parakeet for Christmas and I was confused about her behavior but after reading this website I understand. She is very quiet and just sits there on her perch. I just got her so now I know why. I will give her a few days so she can get used to my house, her house. Then I want to start handling her more cause I dont want her to be mean to humans. She is very smart and I know I can train her.

My budgie has been acting aggressive lately. She will try to bite us as we walk by her cage. What is the problem? She is about 4 or 5 months old. I think she might be in heat but I don't know. We love our Lola bird and want to make her happy. If you can help send us a message. Thanks,
Lola's owner.

Someone gave me a blue and white with blue on the beak and I went out and bought a yellow, green and black with a neutral beak. I was told that the male was the blue and the female was the yellow. Now the blue one has been sleeping a lot and looks a little on the chubby side. I'm confused now on how do I tell. I want them to mate and live a long life. They belong to my kids.

My husband is getting me two (2) budgies for my birthday! This website has been awesome. I had a cockatiel when I was a child as a family pet, so its been a while since I've had a bird. This website has refreshed me on what I need to know about the type of bird I'm getting and what to do for them, flight time, feeding everything! It's wonderful. I only had to come here. I was able to look at all the different kinds of birds offered and decide the easiest and most unique ones. It was very nice not having to go to 100 different sites to get all the information listed on this one page. Now I am totally prepared and know what to do and what to expect from the Budgies we are going to get! I haven't picked any names yet but we're going to get a male and female. I love the fact there was that information how you tell them apart. I'm happy to say I did all my research from just this one site! Thank you Animal-world!!

My budgie's name is eeegore, he is a male. He talks, he says 'your a good boy eegore'. I call him and he comes like a dog, he is a smart bird. I want to mate him with a female bird but when I go to petland they're too young to tell. Is there another way to tell when they're too young to get a female.
