Pat 9-18-05 - 2005-09-18 I found my first Parakeet one month ago today, and this last Friday September 16th I found the second Parakeet, and after going on this web site I have discovered that the first Parakeet I found is a Male and he is Yellow and named Stormy and the one I found on Friday is Blue and a Female, I named her Sunny. Who knows, there may come a day when I have baby Parakeets. They are in the same cage and get along real well.
Blue Jeans - 2005-09-13 I found out my parakeet is very high maintenance. He craves attention and when he doesn't get any attention he bites. I found different kinds of whistles that he likes. I talk to him all the time now. When I'm not home I play the radio for him. My parakeets name is pockets. Blue Jeans
Cameron V. - 2005-09-11 Budgies are friendly, heartwarming birds. They make good friends as well as pets. I once had one that would sit on my shoulder and nuzzle my chin all day long. When I went upstairs to breakfast, and the bird was left alone, it decided to take matters into its own hands. The bird slipped under the door crack, flew around the kitchen, and landed on my head.
Rachel Jung - 2005-09-03 I don't know why, but having a pet was always speacial to me. Even if it was just a little fish or something. I never thought that I would buy a bird. I just kept asking my mom (and I am only like, 9) if I could get a puppy. My dad is allergic so she always said no and that they are a waste of money. So we always had a fish or two or like a small type of animal with no fur.(That would include lizards,frogs and such.....) But one day, my mom suggested we buy a bird. So, today I have two blue budgies name Susu and Soso. They always seem to play tug of war with the chew toy. They are so precious! In a few months or after I get REALLY used to having birds, I'll have my own aviary and I will start breeding birds! Yay!

Pat 8-28-05 - 2005-08-28 I have only had my Parakeet for 7 days, I had noticed her outside with the wild birds that I feed and then it started to rain and the Parakeet was trying to find shelter, I went out and picked her up, soaking wet, named her Stormy and she seems very healthy for being caught in a horrible rain storm. She is a very happy bird and I am so glad that I found her and brought her into the house.

KEEP THEIR CAGE LOWER THAN YOUR CHEST WHEN YOU'RE STANDING AND THIS WILL HELP WITH TERRITORIAL BUDGIES. I LOVE THESE LITTLE GUYS AND HOPE YOU WILL TOO!

Your site is very good. I would not have known that the cabbage family was bad for budgies, although I have never given it to them.

My parakeet flew into my backyard..and my mom fell in love with it...its so beautiful...but poops a lot!!!!!
