Hi, My name is Sandra and I got my first Quaker from my Sister in March of 2005. His name is Tango. he's 11 years old and he was the meanest little guy I have ever met, but I had to give him a chance. When I brought him home my plan was to just offer him food, water and enjoy him from this side his cage. well one day when I was feeding and watering him he got out and I was terrified. I didn't know what I was going to do. He kept walking towards me and I kept backing up until finally I reached down and he climbed up on my hand (without biting) so I put him on his play pen. Every day we did this and little by little every day we grew closer and closer. So needless to say 6 months later we are now Best Bud's. we shower together and Tango goes shopping with me in the pet pocket I got for Him. He goes to car shows, family events, and he has even gone to Las Vegas with us, LOL. He is my Best Pal ever and I love him. he loves to get and give kisses, he tells me he's a "Good Bird" "Good Boy" "Ma Ma Cracker" "Alright" "Ah Oh" and of course my favorite "Love You". He's so sweet now he brings tears to my eyes and now he's not from biting any more. He likes when I sing How much is that "Birdie" in the window, some times he tries to sing along.

I got Roomy about six months ago. He is blue with a yellow face. After a couple of weeks I felt sorry for him because he seemed lonely; I was away at school or studying, so I got him a pal named Sunshine. She was all yellow but is now getting pretty much green on her also. They really seem to like each other. They actually kiss! I believe Sunshine is a slightly different species than Roomie. Her head and eyes are larger and she squawks more as he chirps more. A friend of mine that knows nothing about Parakeets guessed that Sunshine was the female because she was squawking and nagging poor little Roomie who just sits there and takes it. I really love these little friends of mine.

Just discovered your website and was happy to see that my Rosella is right on target. I was told in the beginning that they didn't make great pets and not to expect much; however, I have had her for 7 years and she mimics words such as, Come here, Hi Honey, and whistles Jingle Bells, Laurel & Hardy medley, and some others. We have found she gets irritated by my son-in-law's British accent...talk about screaming! Keep up the great website.

I found my first Parakeet one month ago today, and this last Friday September 16th I found the second Parakeet, and after going on this web site I have discovered that the first Parakeet I found is a Male and he is Yellow and named Stormy and the one I found on Friday is Blue and a Female, I named her Sunny. Who knows, there may come a day when I have baby Parakeets. They are in the same cage and get along real well.

Chrissy is our beautiful little lutino indian ringneck and her bright personality reflects her beautiful yellow plumage. When we got Chrissy as a baby we knew very little about ringnecks, but it didn't take long to fall totally in love with her. Chrissy is very tame and will take love from anyone. She loves to play and shred anything she can get ahold of and she talks up a storm. I have met many people who claim that ringnecks are not good companion birds and can be very mean but I think they are horribly misunderstood birds. We own everything from budgies to macaws and our ringneck is, hands down, the sweetest and most charming bird in our flock. The key to owning a happy, healthy, and sweet ringneck is making sure that you spend time with your bird every day because ringnecks don't take kindly to being ignored (You wouldn't either if you were someones pet)! I think one of the only drawbacks to owning ringnecks is their loud, shrill call that sounds like "BAM BAM BAM" but this noise can be kept to a very minimal amount when properly taken care of. Overall these are awesome birds and charm their way into the hearts of just about anyone, even those who don't really care for birds!

I found out my parakeet is very high maintenance. He craves attention and when he doesn't get any attention he bites. I found different kinds of whistles that he likes. I talk to him all the time now. When I'm not home I play the radio for him. My parakeets name is pockets.

Budgies are friendly, heartwarming birds. They make good friends as well as pets. I once had one that would sit on my shoulder and nuzzle my chin all day long. When I went upstairs to breakfast, and the bird was left alone, it decided to take matters into its own hands. The bird slipped under the door crack, flew around the kitchen, and landed on my head.

I have an alexanderine parakeet and I am 9. My alex parrot's name is chomper amd he is just over 12 months old. He is starting to talk. I would love to get him out of his cage but I'm scared he'll fly into something and hurt himself. He loves eating corn. when he talks he says "what are ya doin hey". At night when he is ready to sleep I sneak over to his cage and pat him on his greasy beak. I have seven other birds and they all copy each other!

I don't know why, but having a pet was always speacial to me. Even if it was just a little fish or something. I never thought that I would buy a bird. I just kept asking my mom (and I am only like, 9) if I could get a puppy. My dad is allergic so she always said no and that they are a waste of money. So we always had a fish or two or like a small type of animal with no fur.(That would include lizards, frogs and such.....) But one day, my mom suggested we buy a bird. So, today I have two blue budgies name Susu and Soso. They always seem to play tug of war with the chew toy. They are so precious! In a few months or after I get REALLY used to having birds, I'll have my own aviary and I will start breeding birds! Yay!
