I have several budgies that are pied yellow/ blue. Sometimes they hatch with grey/ yellow, some with turquoise/white/ yellow. Has anyone seen this anomaly before? Is there any commercial interest? Please let me know as I haven't even found any reference to these combos anywhere! Hogg1199@yahoo.com

I had a pair of plumheads and I just loved them. I would like to get another pair of them, but don't know where to go for them. Can anyone help me out on this please? I lost my birds when I moved from one state to another. Looking forward to hearing from you soon. I live in Nevada close to Las Vegas. Thank you for your time.

I found him on the roadside and he is with us from a month and he only has guava and barley. What must we feed him and he is not friendly and we are worried he is afraid. Tell us what to give him and what we have to do to make him play with us.

Hi my plum eats bread dipped in tea or even garevi. He eats corn, strawberries, mangoes, apples...almost all types of fruits. You can try giving them these. :)

I have a pair of plum head parakeets. They both are very friendly with me because I am the only one to entertain them. They are very jolly and sometimes become a shouting monkey to get my attention. I love them. I have recently gotten a female parakeet for my mino (male parakeet). She in a few days has adjusted amazingly. But the problem here is that I don't know when they will breed? I want to become aunti of their kids. :) They play with each other and have an open environment, they go from one room to another. I have set some flowers and tree stumps to make my place look like a forest. But when will they breed? I am really worried. Please help me. Want to become aunti hira..

Hello no need to worry these are also like other birds and you are petting them. All you need is to provide them nesting boxes according to ther size and they get mature for mating after 3 years. Female will start spending time in a nestbox, that is the sign that she is ready to breed. And will allow male for sex. Remove all messes you have created in your house. They need their mood, their time and privacy. All you need is to provide them time.

Howdy, 15 1/2 years ago on Thanksgiving, a small bird flew into our house from the back sliding door. She stopped at the counter, where we had refreshments. She landed on a plate of cheese and crackers. She started talking, but it sounded like she was talking some asian language. We put up ads at pet stores and veterinary offices with no response. She has been identified from a bird pet store as a female and as a Meyer's Parrot. She talks English now and tells us at 9:00 pm every night 'go nite nite'. She also says 'hello' whenever the phone rings. We have a small chihuahua also, named Jenny. Our parrot, Paulie, says 'Jennie' over and over all day long. I have seen photos of Meyer's parrots and they all have some yellow on them. Paulie is gray with a very pretty green on her underneath. She won't let me near her but she loves my husband, Any suggestions on how we can get her to like me or at least not want to tear my hand off when I get close to her cage?

My daughter has had her parakeets (Budgies) for about 5 yrs. now. She turned 16 and is busy with other things and has lost interest in them, so I brought them into our living room, I didn't realize they don't seem to like each other very much, they are male and female. I bought them a huge flight cage, thinking maybe if they were able to fly around better, they would get along better. They do the kissing thing sometimes and sleep next to each other. I got them some new toys. They seem to love the cage, but they still fuss at each other a lot. I got them a pineapple little house thing, and the female (Juliet) is very possessive with it. She will chase him (Romeo) if he gets near it. I don't want to get rid of one or separate them cuz they've been together 5yrs. Any suggestions? My husband told me to put another parakeet in there with them, I don't want to make things worse?

Cosomo Quaker is a 3yr old female and very talkative. She is lively and will follow me all over the house. She loves a good game of pick-a-boo. She will call MOOOOM until I find her. Her favorite hiding place is on my shoulders directly behind my head where I cannot see her. She has a wonderful sense of humor. She is not as adventurous with new foods. She has a Meyers parrot sibling and they are very much like human children fighting over a favorite toy not to be shared. They are very gentle with each other. Cosmo loves her younger brother and even tells him "loooove you." My quaker is not a quiet bird, she is very vocal with her family. She has been an inspiration for my Meyers parrot...taught him to talk. :)

Hi! I just got some green spotted puffers and I have heard that you should keep them in freshwater when they are young...I have got them in saltwater now. Is that ok?

I went in to check on the birds tonight to cover the cage up with the blanket. What I saw was the 2 finches setting in that other nest sleeping while the other nest with the eggs in it left alone. ???

Actually the thing happened is I wanted to buy red belly piranha, and I wasnt knowing how to identify one, and the local pet store told me that this are RBP, and even they have/had red belly i mean reddish color at their bottom and now it's confirmed that its pacu, but I dont know whether it's a red belly pacu or black pacu. I think i should sell all those and just buy a RBP.

My moms Quaker named Tiger was put down on Tues. He had a large tumor under his wing. He was like a human, he spoke all day, he was 14 hrs old. My mom is devastated and so are the rest of the family, we are desperately looking for a young hand reared Quaker, please let me know if you know of anyone that can assist. It would make my mom the happiest person alive. Thanks so much. I live in East London and my mom is in Grahamstown. My cell number is 0827238881 x x

I have 3 red tailed tinfoil barbs, they seem to be getting along with all my other fish.. I have a 180 gallon tank, 55 gallon tank and a 110 tank that houses my turtles.. In my 180 gallon tank with the barbs I have ballas, oscars, redtailed shark, black shark, lobster, kissing graumi and a Pike Cichlid.. I feed them all a lot, but I don't want my fish to starve.. How often is it recommended to feed these big barbs? I am sorry to hear about your fish, I cry when one of mine die.. =o)

well as with my sick fish i think he may have had a stroke if thats possible, he is in a permanent 'c' shape and the second set of fins on the bottom seem to be paralyzed but its been a few weeks and he gets around and he's eating again. as for keeping the black morrs with my common ive had them together for about 3 or 4 months now and my morrs are just plain fat, i also added 2 sarsasa commet goldfish and even tho they are faster they all get along just fine. instead of feeding them 2 or 3 times a day i just feed them a little bit every hour or so and they'll just search the bottom in-between feedings.
