I have a halfmoon named JC that I just got a little over two weeks ago. He is almost six mos. I have wanted a halfmoon for at least five years and I'm very happy with him. Although he's not into cuddling yet, he's content to perch on my finger. He's already learning to talk. He can say "Whatchadoing" clearly. He is such a cute bird!! I wish there were more of these birds in the petmarket because they make such great pets. I'm very happy with JC and hope he lives a long time.
I just got my Halfmoon Conure....today as a matter of fact! It's 13 weeks old, and has done nothing all evening but sit on the upper perch in it's brand new cage and stare at me, in between short little naps. This is my third Halfmoon over a span of 30 years, and I look forward to many years of joy with the newest member of my family! I established a great deal of trust and closeness with my previous birds; I hope to accomplish the same with "Bodhi".
I have a 1 year old half moon conure. He is so sweet yet can be very vocal! He loves to take baths and eat people food. His favorite thing is to ride around on my shoulder.
We adopted Luna, our Half Moon, with best-friend Buster, a Green Cheek conure.
Luna is sweet and has a lot of personality. If I had to recommend a bird choice, I would recommend a Half Moon over a Green Cheek, although the Green Cheek's "Napolean-like" personality and playfulness has its puppylike charms. But since some new owners who haven't been "bird people" don't have patience with getting nipped if the treat isn't coming fast enough, a Green Cheek might not be the best choice for them.
Luna is more patient, less nippy, but more fiercely resistent to going to bed at night. She likes to sing and eat carrots, apples, spaghetti, steak and pink lemonade.
She is as talkative as Buster, but says "hello" and "pretty, pretty bird." She is friendly with our cockatiels as well.

I have a Half Moon Dwarf Conure named Taylor! He was given to me by my neighbor, Kathy who had him for over 20 years. He is about 25 years old and acts like a youngster. He bathes about 2-3 times a week and makes a mess. We lost out Pepy, Cockatiel, on Saturday, 10-29-05 at about age 15. Taylor is moping about some but is getting much loving from me. We are each others' pal. We both miss out Pepybut will get over it. He is, at times, a very noisy boy!!!He is a great little bird and I hope he has 10 years or more to live! He keeps me going. He is able to get out of his cage any time he likes but is covered at night.
It's great to see my little "Lucky" is famous -- on the web!! I handraised Lucky for Crystal & he was talking before weaned. Little bird with a HUGE personality - love him. (& you and Norm, Crystal) Phoebe
I have a Halfmoon Conure named Tequila and have found him (or her) to be a delightful friend. I would encourage anyone who is interested in this bird to think about adopting one-not as a pet but as a new family member!
