We got ours 4 weeks ago as an unweaned baby. So she thinks we'er mom and dad. She acts more like a baby than a bird. Her favorite thing is to be down our shirts, and she has to sleep in a drawer padded with a towel and with old tee shirts for her to crawl in. She yells when she wakes up to let us know she's awake. She also yells when she hears the front door open since she knows I'm back from work. She's the sweetest thing.

I have a Peach Fronted Conure named Swee'Pea. He has been with me for 3 years. He was a little over 1 yr old when I got him from a pet store that took time to work with their birds. He spoke several words, knew how to step up and imitated every sound he heard. He had a little "nervous breakdown" one month after I got him (still don't know what caused it, possibly his age). One morning, I noticed he stopped talking, acted panicked and would fall and break blood feathers when I had him step up. With patience and advice from a behaviorist, he gradually regained his self assurance and now is back to his old self. He is VERY sweet. Loves to kiss and flirt. Clicks his beak to music (loves Stevie Wonder). Loves everyone who visits. Is generally a joy in my life. I've read things about these guys being loud, I don't find that to be the case at all, he only yells when I first get home from work or if he feels the need to warn us of "danger", for example the dust mop. He's a gem!

I HAVE HAD MY ROCKY ROAD FOR 6 MONTHS NOW. HE JUST TURNED 1 YEAR. I USE TO BE AFRAID OF BIRDS, BUT ROCKY I KNEW WHEN I SAW HIM AND HE LOOKED AT ME AND STARTED DANCING AND THAT WAS IT. I HAVE NEVER HAD A RELATIONSHIP LIKE THIS WITH ANY ANIMAL, BUT WOULDN'T TRADE THE SMILES HE PUTS ON MY FACE FOR MILLIONS OF DOLLARS. I NOW HAVE AQUIRED ANOTHER BIRD A SENEGAL PARROT NAMED MS. JACKIE, AND ALTHOUGH SHE TOO IS SPECIAL AND WE HAVE OUR OWN KIND OF RELATIONSHIP, ROCKY IS AND KNOWS THAT HE IS #1, NOW AND ALWAYS. I ALWAYS SAY THAT HE BLESSES ME WITH HIS LOVE AND FRIENDSHIP. HE LOVES TO DANCE ALL THE TIME AND SING, AND HE IS VERY GOOD AT BOTH. WE ARE A DANCING AND SINGING DUO,AND NOW MS.JACKIE WILL MAKE IT A TRIO.

I have a one year old Peach-fronted Conure called Picasso and a two year old Green-cheeked Conure called Kosie. They are purely wonderful birds. Very intelligent companions who likes to nibble on everything, including my shoes. Picasso does not speak yet but the signs are there. Kosie speaks rather well and he often calls my daughter Nadiya ( who spends a lot of time with them) by her name. He flies around the house as he wish. When i enter the house he flies onto my shoulder and allow me to cuddle him. My daughter calls him from her bedroom and he responds. He likes to hide under her clothing and often pops his head out to see what

I have two sun conures. Both are rescues. As numerous bird books explain, a rescued bird is hard to handle since you have to teach them all the proper behavior and skills they needed to learn from their first owners.
My first sun, Charlie (one of the reasons I HAD to buy him), was a big biter, a big screamer, etc. Basically he was one of those birds that most people would just as soon strangle than look at. He bonded with me within a week. It took me a month of anguish and pain to rid him of excessive screaming and other bad habits.
My second sun, Petout (pronounced Pee-too), was given to me by my landlady who was a single mom with two kids and very little time for a bird. Petout was a womans bird. She hated men and bit them if they ever got near. I was amazed. It only took me about a day to stop her from biting me. Her behavior tends to be better than Charlie.
Both birds are very loving and sociable now. Aside from occasional screaming (when someone walks by my window) and annoying beeps (imitating the microwave), they are fantastic. I find that suns only get noisy when excited, scared, or surprised in some way. Otherwise they are VERY quiet. Petout has a cute little meep meep when shes sociable. And Charlie has a goofy little squEEeeEEK that imitates a sqeaky door and gives TONS of kissy noises when strangers are about. When Charlie knows hes been bad, or is angry at something, he shouts no (the only clear word he speaks) and grumbles. Thats about it for noise. I love these birds more than anything. The are absolutely my children and I will always treat them as such.

I have a Halfmoon Conure named Tequila and have found him (or her) to be a delightful friend. I would encourage anyone who is interested in this bird to think about adopting one-not as a pet but as a new family member!

I HAVE AN 8 MONTH OLD SUN NAMED BLAZE. HE IS VERY SOCIABLE AND LOVES TO CUDDLE AND NIBBLE ON EARS. STRANGELY ENOUGH, HE WILL NOT LET ANYONE STROKE OR TOUCH HIS BACK. HE WILL SQUACK LIKE YOU ARE HURTING HIM. HIS VOCABULARY CONSISTS OF THREE WORDS- HELLO, UH-OH, AND WHEN YOU CALL HIS NAME, HE WILL SAY HUH? HE IS A FUN PET AND WILL GO TO EVERY MEMBER OF MY FAMILY, EVEN MY 5 YEAR OLD, WHO IS HIS FAVORITE PERSON NEXT TO ME. THEY SAY THAT MOST SUNS TEND TO SCREAM, BUT MY BLAZE ONLY DOES 2 TIMES A DAY- EARLY MORNING AND AT BEDTIME. SUNS ARE WONDERFUL PETS, IF YOU GIVE THEM PROPER CARE AND ATTENTION.

Moonie was my wonderful Peach Front Conure. He loved to snuggle and bathe in his water dish. His favorite treats were peanuts in the shell and Nutriberries. Unfortunately he died at 1 year and 8 months old. I miss him dearly :-( . He was a great bird!

I bought a Peach front conure about a month ago. His name is Stewie, but he is a very scared bird. Understandably, though, because he was rescued from the Petco in Eatontown, New Jersey after the recent, tragic explosion. He is getting much better now, though, because I am not forcing him to interact. I just open the cage, and talk to him softly everyday for long periods of time, and he is starting to come out on his own now. He also makes kissing noises, and we have a game where i click, and he repeats my clicks. I can make three clicking noises, and he will. Then he will make a noise and i will mimick it. He is such a sweetheart and really coming around! I am so glad that i got him and cant wait to see how much he learns and grows!
