About 7 years ago I was returning from lunch at my place of employment when I heard a loud noise from the tree above. As I was looking to see what it was, this beautiful young bird flew to my shoulder. I have had her since then. I thought it was a male but a year ago she left me 4 eggs so I guess I was wrong. I have to say that she is the joy of my life. She is loving, playful and spoiled rotten. She has captured my husband's heart as well although he thinks she gets more attention than he does. At any rate, Nanday's are wonderful, mine, Nikki, is seldom really noisy, only when she wants to go to bed and then she screams "Night night" or when she wants to be uncovered or anytime anyone comes to the door or walks down the street or the icecream man goes by. She also mimics the sound of the garage door opening and says several things although she speaks very quietly when talking. Nanday's are very easy to train and a joy to have.

Hello, My name is SAM - I'm a 8 month old Sun Conure. My owner JJ is 5 Years old. JJ's parents bought me as their family pet about 6 months ago. I can say the following words: "Hello, Pat, Tickle Tickle, Come on". I can also "wolf whistle" thanks to JJ's father!! I live in Australia along with my owner JJ and her parents. JJ named me Sam because I have not had my DNA test as yet to see if I am a boy or girl. JJ's father reckons I'm a boy because that would balance out the males and the females in the house. Anyway, time to go now, it's way past my bed time - "good night Sam".

I was given a sun conure 15 years ago. I never had a bird, and this little baby and I had alot to learn about each other. Well, we became the best friends ever..... She broke her beak at 2 and because I wanted the best for her she was with me everywhere for 13 years. I found a Vet. that gave me a diet that she could deal with because she couldn't eat seeds anymore She loved to play and really loved to cuddle. She got her pilots Lic. with me, she's been camping, hiking, horseback riding, sailing, driving a big rig with my friend, she has been to all the western U.S. states. Even with no beak she learned that the world was hers if she wanted. She died 2 months ago of cancer. I have never had a spirit that touched my soul has she did. I will forever love her and to this day miss her with all my heart. They are the best compaions I have ever had. I'm starting to look for another, but I don't want the new one to fill her shoes. He/she will have to make his/her own mark on my heart. B

I have 10 yr old sun conure named Joshua that I had taken in as foster bird. I had him about a day and fell in love with him. The only problem I have with him is that he will not go to anyone else. I know that I had over bonded with him when I first got him. I have tried everything to get him to like other people, mostly my husband.
He is so loving towards me. He loves to play peek-a-boo and have me chase him around on the couch. I bought him a couple of doll tents to play in when he is out of his cage and on the couch with me.
My friends and family say I have lost my mind because of the way I treat Josh. He will not eat a lot of fruits and vegs so I feed him baby food out of the jar.
There are days I can't wait to get home after work to get him out a give love and kisses. I just can't imagine my life without him.

I had a wonderful peach fronted conure and he was so so sweet, unfortunately one day he accidentally flew out the door. i live in Alaska and it was in may so i doubt he would survived the night. We went looking for him just after he flew away and found him. I called to him and he was coming down from a large spruce, hopping branch to branch and he hopped on one and it broke. He got scared and flew off into the woods. He was a lovely bird and his name was Prefered Bird.

I have a 5 year old GCC called Ringo. He is an absolute darling, although he does have his moody moments and is prone to temper tantrums when he can't get his own way. I stay in an apartment so his wings are clipped (for his own safety)- but that doesn't seem to bother him as he thinks he should be carried every where anyway ! He does try to talk and mimics whistles perfectly. He happily keeps himself amused for hours (even when I'm at home) but enjoys a good playtime together. After not being much of a "bird person" I am really so glad I decided to share my home with Ringo - it would be a dull day without him ! Even my husband is attached to him and they have a special cuddle time before Ringo goes to bed !

Hi

I have Jenday Conures. These little guys are the most adorable pets you could have. They are so cuddly and loving, they are a pleasure to be with. They tend to be friendly with just about all of the family.

I would strongly recommend these for young children as they tend to have the same nuturing need as a child. They love to be cuddled and children love to cuddle pets. Always keeping in mind how young the child is and keeping them supervised is still a need.
To get pleasure from a pet, you will from a Jenday conure.

We have a breeding pair of PF's and they are just hatching their first clutch of 4 eggs. The first hatched yesterday. Their names are Conrad and Connie. We are hoping to have a healthy mess of babies soon. C & C are not hand tame, but they are very social and interact with us joyfully. Conrad waits for his piece of apple everyday.
