My parents bought their peach front conure Peaches in 1988. He was about 2 years old then, making him at least 20 years old now.

He is a joy and I miss him so much. He has learned about 5-10 words, shouts "Hello!" when the phone rings, and even though I moved out years ago he still calls out my name when a car pulls up to the house.

He loves warm baths (hold him under a warm gentle dribble of water in the sink), and also loves apples and oranges. He can get ornery once in a while, if you play rough with him or if he is hungry.

I can't say enough good things about Peaches and what a great pet conures make. My wife just dropped a hint that she might like to try our own, I hope she means it because I can't wait to bring home our own friend.

I brought home my Patagonian Conure, Lucy, about five months ago. It was the best decision I ever made. She is so social and cute. She goes to everyone and rarely bites. I've already adapted to the noise. Her cuteness makes up for it. Lucy loves to climb her cage, throw her toys, and take showers with me. On hot days she takes bathes in her water dish and sprays water across the whole kitchen! It's really funny to watch. She is very social, but doesn't talk very much. She just makes little noises;but she's only about ten months and I heard they reach maturity at two. I highly reccomend Patagonian conures for people who are willing to put out a lot of love!!! They put a smile on your face and they're worth every penny!!!

I have an 8 month old Sun Conure called Cheeko, and I have to say he is a better guard dog than my dog. He starts to shout as soon as he hears our car pull into the drive or anyone knock at the door. He flies to your hand when you click your fingers and rolls over on his back so you can stroke his belly. I never knew a bird could be so enjoyable.

A while ago we decided we wanted another bird (We've only had cockatiels and parakeets) and one morning we saw a kids' pet show on TV that had Caiques...after finding out that they were quiet and playful (we live in an apartment), we decided that's what we wanted! So that afternoon, we set out to find one. We stopped by a few pet stores that had nothing interesting. Then we walked into the bird room of one pet store and there he was. We didn't even know what kind of bird he was at first...but as we walked up to his cage...he ran accross the bottom to us and flipped over on his back and kicked his feet. "We want that one!" And that's how we got "Baby", our little Green Cheeked Conure. He is a RIOT! He loves to swing from the venietion blind cords...he loves to take showers with us screaming "BATH! BATH! BATH!" the whole time! He can say his name and also "Pretty Bird". He likes to sit on the curtains and look out the window and say "Pretty, Pretty" and is just too content to sit with us at the table and share our meal (and I do mean share OUR meal...he's not happy with a piece of our food of his own...he likes to eat what we're eating and right off our plate...too cute!). He loves to slide down anything! We're looking for a small sliding board for him now. He runs back and forth across the back of our couch, stopping only to tug at hes favorite blanket or roll down the couch...yes, he does this on purpose. He's the perfect apartment bird since he's small and quiet...even when he screams, it's not at all loud. He's also rather neat, doesn't throw seeds...and he does his best to be potty trained. He's parakeet size with a macaw's brain! He's perfect!

I recently lost my hand fed lutino budgie. She was the sweetest bird, and we were very upset for a while and recently I started looking around for new birds. I have fallen in love with green cheek conures. Although I won't be able to purchase one for a couple of months, i have been doing all the research on them that I can, and I am soooo excited for when I can finally get one. I look forward to obtaining one of these, curious and cuddly birds.

I just recently was given a Nanday conure who came from a home where the people had no time for him. I named him Gizmo. I am the third and forever owner. Gizmo can be so affectionate and very loveable. I love Gizmo despite his loud screeching plus I have 8 other birds in an apt bldg. At first I wasnt too sure about the noise but he has settled in quite quickly. Gizmo loves music, also loves to dance, bark, and eat.
I do have biting issues with Gizmo but in time he will gain my trust.
I have always wanted a parrot bigger than a cockatiel and now I have Gizmo and a Green cheek conure with 4 male tiels, 2 male budgies, and 1 male canary.
I love all my birds the same and would not trade it for anything else in the world.

We have a 2 year old sun conure who is very sweet but is very loud. We hand fed him since he was a baby at PetSmart. We had a very mean green cheek and we found out some one at PetSmart abused him, so we got a big discount on him. So from now on we buy from breeders.
