Forgot to say that Rex loves to open all the buttons on my shirt & push it apart...which can be embarrassing when we have visitors around! He is good friends with our Greater Sulphur Crested, Lucy, but it took a while for him to accept her when she arrived 3months ago. Rex also enjoys hanging out of my hair(which is very long)& has been known to cause great surprise when his little head pops out of my black locks. When he's asleep inside my shirt he will slip his head out just enough to see what's happening when he hears new voices in the room or when he wants to check on me! One of his most entertaining tricks is to open & remove my earrings! He responds to his name & also knows "ah ah" means he's being naughty. At Christmas he came to the office with me & was a huge hit with all the staff, along with Lucy. He has proven himself to be exceptionally clever & very quick on the uptake. I look forward to coming home to him every evening...oh & also to see my family! Paulette

I have a green cheeked conure named Jaguar. He is a year and a half old (Maybe) For a green cheek he says a number of phrases quite clearly such as "Jaguar Rraaoow!" "Hows it going baby?", "Whats going on eh?", "Hello." "How are we today?", "Hi Baby!" "The Shadow knows,Henh, henh, henh,ha!" "Come here Jaguar.", and "Baby! Baby! Baby! "Pretty good vocab for such a little bird. He loves to eat whatever I'm eating and is a big fan of cranberry juice. Like a lot of conures he loves toys that weren't meant as toys. His favorites are the lids off of lipton Ice Tea bottles, my bright orange nalgene water bottle and my mettalic purple coffee cup/thermos. His newest fascinations are a collection of small stones (rose quartz, carnelean, amethyst, and jade.) that are just perfectly sized for his feet and beak. I put all these objects together on a low table and it is like the perfect play gym. He is of course jealous of other people who I show affection to but can come around eventually if they interract with him while he is on his cage or on me. Actually he will pick up things they teach him quite quickly once he realizes the "intruders" entertainment value. He loves mash potatoes, apples, red hot peppers, sweet carrots and fruit juice. He is fascinated by holes such as shirt sleeves and crevices between cushions. He sticks his head in them and then growls mightly, listening to the weird acoustics. He's a bossy bird but I totally love him.

I too, have a patty named Lucy, and she is my heart! She is just over a year old and is the best companion parrot I've ever had. She talks a storm up when I'm not around saying things like, "ah, you're such a good bird! Hi, how's it goin? What doin? and Pretty, pretty, pretty girl." She never wants to talk when she's with me, so I call her a closet talker. I recommend anyone looking to get a parrot to consider a patty.

Well I don't have a conure but im getting one for my b-day in less than 2 months and after reading about them I can't wait! I'm going to get him a nice big cage so I can fit a bunch of toys in there so he can play with them. Im getting him at a local pet shop and he is 7 months old. I can't wait til' my b-day!

Hello! I just bought my peach front yesterday! I get to pick him up in 2 weeks! (he is still being weaned by the breeder) I went to look at the quakers and ended up with a peach front conure. How funny! After taking a look at all the birds he had to offer, the peach front was so loving and he wanted to be with me all the time. If I put him down he would sit on the boing and look at me until I picked him up! I can't wait to bring him home and see what he will be like all the time! I will update!

I have a half-moon conure named Pumpkin but he seems to respond better to "NO" or "QUITO". He will be 3yrs old february 25th. He is so smart and he loves to shower every day, right under the faucet in the laundry room. He does not have a cage, he's well behaved and stays on his gym, but most of the day he is on my shoulder. A little too spoiled, if you do not pick him up he walks over to you and climbs up your pants and gives you a kiss. He is the best. I have never had a pet as loving and affectionate as Pumpkin. It is amazing, and he gets jealous if somebody hugs me, very protective my little guy... -Jen

We have had "Tequilia Sunrise", A.K.A. Mr. 'Peeps', featherhead, TIKI, little boy, Mr. Man; for over a year now. We hand fed him from the time he had no feathers and have been completely 'owned' by him for a little over a year now. He LOVES to play hide and seek for 15 minutes (a nightly bedtime ritual) by crawling over the bed as we hide underneath them. He loves to fall asleep in the "birdcaves' we make for him with the comforter on our bed as we wind down from a long day. He loves it so much he will go all the way down to our feet, UNDER the covers (if we let him). He really enjoys the morning too as he is a little alarm clock by quietly saying "What are you doing?" over and over in my ear until I wake up and play with him.

I have a patagonian conure named julie. She is the best pet EVER! We have had her for 6 years now. She is the love of our lives. I got julie as a family gift for me and the children following my divorce. WOW can julie put a smile on our face and cheer you up when you are sad. All she ever wants is a little attention in return. Now remarried she loves to hang out with my wife and i. she laughs like my wife and sounds just like me when she says hello. She is a hit with the neighbors. i live in an apartment and never have had a complaint. She is the BEST watchdog uhh i mean watchbird, always telling us if someone is near. She has brought so much joy into our lives. Julie loves to sit outside with the family in the summertime. She loves to bathe, play with keys and spoons(she trys to help put away the silverware). Her favorte toy is her bell attached to the mirror. She can be loud sometimes but it sounds like she is having so much fun. Or sometimes she yells at her bell when she is mad. it is so funny if the phone rings she says hello. She is great with the kids and other family members too.

Hi i have an 9 month old sun conure named Rocco. He is very loud at times but lots of fun. He is more playful than my cockatiels. I enjoy having a conure.
