i have had my green cheeked conure, arnold, for about 4 years now. hes the sweetest little bird ever, well to me anyway. im the only one that can touch him, even my mom whom he cuddles with on occasion cant pet him without getting bit. he cant really talk though he can mumble baby bird. he learned how to fly a few months after i got him. i was too scared to clip his wings and i now feel that since hes been flying for the past few years it would be rather mean to get them cut. hes never flown into windows or anything, but he did get out of the house once, which ended good because he now realizes that outside is bad. it was below zero out and snowy. i didn't even take the time to put on my shoes to go climb the tree he was in, so i wasn't happy with him. thank god he didn't get sick though. overall he is a great affectionate and interactive pet. i adore him.

Zoe, my sun conure, was the best birthday I have ever gotten. She was my sweet 16 present. 11 years later, so many boyfriends, roommates, friends, and jobs have come and gone, but she is still my little birdfriend. She says "Hello", especially when the phone rings. She'll also snuggle up to me and say "I love you". If you're thinking of getting a small parrot, a sunny can be a wonderful, noisy, loyal, entertaining addition to your life.

we just got our pet green cheek "congo" a few weeks ago! we do not yet know it's gender, so we just call it a he. "Congo" is so much fun! in the morning he flaps his wings excessively and trys to get off the ground, but he can't yet beacuse he is only about 4 weeks old. he also likes to squawk very loudly when he is hungry. my next door neighbor has birds too. she helps us out a lot since she's had birds a lot longer than us. i've wanted a bird for a long time, and now i have one! i love my green cheek "Congo"!

Jojo is the sweetist birdie ever. He is so smart and nosey. he says things like come here, you hear me, hi jojo, want a cookie, want a bite, want a drink, you baby hey you baby. he is very playful and loves to eat anything I eat. I don't know how I existed without him. He helps keep me sane. Thanks for listening to a GREEN CHEEK LOVER, SUE

We've had our blue crown, "Giggles" for over 4 years; we call him "baby bird" and just love him to death! He's bonded to my wife and gets very jealous of her and nips her if she does not spend enough time with her. Also Giggles laughs EXACTLY like my wife, which is a riot. Giggles likes to scream alot in the late afternoon which drives us nuts sometimes but we cannot imagine not having Giggles around. We recently added a second parrot to our "family", a Senegal about the same size as Giggles. We thought they would be buddies but they are more like rivals, sometimes Coco, our Senegal, chases Giggles around the cage or away from the food dishes. Giggles loves to eat macaroni, chicken wings, mashed potatoes, and God forbid he gets a hold of your chocolate chip cookie! We have a real time wrestling the chip out of his mouth!

i have a cross between a sun and nanday. her name is keiven and is about 14 years old. hehe a year older than me. i've had her in my family for about 5 years and she's been a sweetie yet she can sometimes get agressive and draw blood. just recently she shattered her wing since her bones were thin because of nesting, so she's in a quiet small cage. she has been on painkillers, calcium, and anitbiotics. so far its been about 2 weeks since the fall and she is doing great.

for those of you who are having problems with biting and gnawing, just keep at it. be gentle, speak to them in a nice voice, and give them treats. they enjoy that, and will eventually start being a little angel. took about 1-2 weeks for me when we got her. =]

While browsing we (my blue crown and I ) found your site! Chuckles is a healthy female fifteen years young. She is a dear sweet friend who has traveled the country with me in a pickup truck, lived in a camper, experienced tornados and is now very happy way out in the wilds of northern Utah. She laughs, says hello and makes various funny sounds. She eats her Bonanza seed mix plus apples, grapes, cooked salmon, yams and peas with cheddar cheese. Lucky bird...lucky owner. I hope to have the pleasure of her company for another fifteen years or more.
