Summer and our third year with Coo, and learning about Hormonal Rage. I got my nose well attacked today. A new cage in the living room and Coo is getting territorial about it. I uncovered the cage and let him out early this morning, MISTAKE. Should stick with a late morning schedule and keep the cage covered 12 hours until the end of July when the hormones slow down and the biting stops. Cuddly bird but always gets mean in the summer! Love my Nanday, hate mating season.

I love my Patti. We have been through thick and thin for the last 19 years! She has traveled all places with me, including camping. And I say she, after 19 years she laid an egg tonight!

I was brought up with parakeets, but two weeks ago I bought my first half-moon conure. He was about 12 weeks old and was hand fed as a baby. It was love at first sight. He let me hold him and play with him in pet shop for almost an hour before we took him home. 'Banjo' loves attention and would rather be with people more than on his play area. He already is letting me scratch his head and will lay on his back for a tummy scratch. He lets me pick him up and will come up near the side of my face to cuddle. First thing in the morning and when I return home after work, he makes all sorts of noise to get my attetion so I will talk to and play with him. Can't wait to see what he does after some real training!

My name is Emily and I just got my Green Cheek Conure 6 days ago. I don't know her gender so I guessed shes a girl. I named her Kiwi because of her green feathers. She is a great pet to have, I've had two budgies before when I was little and I have already noticed how much more work having a Green Cheek is. Kiwi is very playful and she loves to cuddle. If I let her out of her cage and I sit down to do homework she flies right on top of my head. I love her a lot, but she does bite sometimes. I don't really know how to prevent this, but so far I have just ignored it. I have also noticed that Kiwi enjoys listening to other birds out the window, today she was sitting with me on my bed and she sat on the window sill and chirped back at the birds. I love Kiwi a lot, for all of you who are considering getting a Green Cheek, I definitely recommend one.

My wife and I purchased a Dusky conure last year. We called him (Drusky). He was such a lover. He shared a cage with our Sun Conure (Ducky). They fell in love right away. He would crawl down from his cage and come right to us, and as soon as we put him back,h e would crawl down again. He fell ill early this year of liver disease. We did everything to save him, but GOD called him home. He was a real joy in our lives. We recently purchased a Red Sholuder Macaw to help out Ducky. She was grieving and our new Macaw (Odie) has helped her and us. I would recommend getting a Dusky Conure. They are real lovers.

I bought a young conure at the start of the year, around 4-5 months ago, and I am so happy with him. Although I have only had beau for a short time i feel like he's bonded well. he's started saying hello, i think, because a lot of the time its just random mumbling he does. i'v also taught him to summersault around my finger. he's so cute, but i think i spoil him too much because he has a habit of throwing temper tantrums when he doesn't get what he wants. despite this, i love him heaps and he is the best bird ever.

Patagonians are great pets, and my Bootsie is no exception. He's fully flighted, and he loves to fly to me, for which he gets extra points, of course. I have a number of other birds, and Bootsie is so sociable and so well liked by all of them that we call him "The Mayor" of the bird room. As far as being loud, he is on occasion, but he very seldom displays that side of himself. I find him to be absolutely delightful, and I hope he defies the statistics on longevity. More people should become familiar with the tremendous pet quality of this species.

i have had my green cheeked conure, arnold, for about 4 years now. hes the sweetest little bird ever, well to me anyway. im the only one that can touch him, even my mom whom he cuddles with on occasion cant pet him without getting bit. he cant really talk though he can mumble baby bird. he learned how to fly a few months after i got him. i was too scared to clip his wings and i now feel that since hes been flying for the past few years it would be rather mean to get them cut. hes never flown into windows or anything, but he did get out of the house once, which ended good because he now realizes that outside is bad. it was below zero out and snowy. i didn't even take the time to put on my shoes to go climb the tree he was in, so i wasn't happy with him. thank god he didn't get sick though. overall he is a great affectionate and interactive pet. i adore him.
