We have had "Tequilia Sunrise", A.K.A. Mr. 'Peeps', featherhead, TIKI, little boy, Mr. Man; for over a year now. We hand fed him from the time he had no feathers and have been completely 'owned' by him for a little over a year now. He LOVES to play hide and seek for 15 minutes (a nightly bedtime ritual) by crawling over the bed as we hide underneath them. He loves to fall asleep in the "birdcaves' we make for him with the comforter on our bed as we wind down from a long day. He loves it so much he will go all the way down to our feet, UNDER the covers (if we let him). He really enjoys the morning too as he is a little alarm clock by quietly saying "What are you doing?" over and over in my ear until I wake up and play with him.

I have a patagonian conure named julie. She is the best pet EVER! We have had her for 6 years now. She is the love of our lives. I got julie as a family gift for me and the children following my divorce. WOW can julie put a smile on our face and cheer you up when you are sad. All she ever wants is a little attention in return. Now remarried she loves to hang out with my wife and i. she laughs like my wife and sounds just like me when she says hello. She is a hit with the neighbors. i live in an apartment and never have had a complaint. She is the BEST watchdog uhh i mean watchbird, always telling us if someone is near. She has brought so much joy into our lives. Julie loves to sit outside with the family in the summertime. She loves to bathe, play with keys and spoons(she trys to help put away the silverware). Her favorte toy is her bell attached to the mirror. She can be loud sometimes but it sounds like she is having so much fun. Or sometimes she yells at her bell when she is mad. it is so funny if the phone rings she says hello. She is great with the kids and other family members too.

I've had Connie for 10 years now..still has the energy and ambition, hasn't mellowed a bit. Always the escape artist and jewelry thief. My 10 year old nephew has been carrying her around daily since the day he could reach the cage. Friends were suprised to see 2/3 year old playing with Connie like a teddy bear. They're best buddies {plus Tyler has his own personal "birdy" guard}. Connie's very protective. Hope to have her forever.

Jimmy, our Jenday Conure, joined our family nearly ten years ago and he is happiest when being held. When we get home, his cage is immediately opened and he spends all of his time on the perch above it. His cage has to be in the kitchen where he can observe and be a part of all activities. He has a perch with a suction cup on it so that he can take showers with us and it is so much fun. He sings his very best and enjoys himself fully. He is always the life of the party, and even the most timid new visitors become huge fans of his by the visits end. Whenever anyone comes to our house, they make a beeline for Jimmy. He is a spectacular bird, so much personality, love, and intelligence!

My Orange Fronted Conure died yesterday, his name was Polly and he was very special to me and my Family. It was an unexpected death and I wish I knew why he passed. He was very overprotective of me and he didn't like anyone to get near me especially not my boyfriend, he always gave me lots of kisses and showed me lots of love. He was a very special part of all our lives. He use to sleep, eat, play, and even take showers with us. I honestly think he thought he was a human. He will truly be missed. R.I.P. Polly

I have a wonderful Half-Moon conure named Frankie. He is incredibly intelligent, happy, outgoing and a great talker. He is not yet 6 months old and says the following phrases, already:
Whatcha-doin?
Hello Frankie
Pretty Bird
Such a Pretty Bird
Good Boy
Step Up
Ouch (which he learned to say when he would nip my finger)
He whistles the "cat call" sound and is beginning to whistle the Andy Griffith Show song!

He's a great little bird, allows me to scratch his cheeks and head and loves attention. I'd recommend this species to anyone who is interested in a pet bird.

I am owned by three Jenday Conures, Fender and Gibson(the twins!) and Beep, our newest arrival. The twins are 4 years old, and were parent raised. They are sweet, and clownish, but not into cuddling.... They talk all the time, and are incredibly smart. They enjoy being with us, but prefer not to be "held", would rather just sit with us. Beep is younger, about a year and a half, and was hand fed as a baby. He is a lot more interested in being held, and cuddles some. All three came from environments where not all of their needs were met, and so we are working through several behavior issues with each bird, but they are incredible animals, great pets for someone who has patience and time to devote to them, and very intelligent.

I have a peach fronted conure, her name is Gizmo. She was given to me by a co-worker that told me the bird was just too mean, this co-worker also told me the bird was male, anyway both proved to be wrong. Gizmo took a lot of time to come around to me (about 3 months), she was just so scared and would bite. I think she was just not cared for properly and possibly abused. But after a lot of time and patience and lots of love, she is the greatest, sweetest little soul. She talks a little, says "hello", "oh baby bird",and "thank-you". Oh, after having her for about 3 years, she laid eggs, that is how we found out he was a she. So now she is a very loved part of our family. I am so happy with her, and would tell anybody wanting a parrot (that is prepared to care for one properly) to get a peach fronted conure.

My parents bought their peach front conure Peaches in 1988. He was about 2 years old then, making him at least 20 years old now.

He is a joy and I miss him so much. He has learned about 5-10 words, shouts "Hello!" when the phone rings, and even though I moved out years ago he still calls out my name when a car pulls up to the house.

He loves warm baths (hold him under a warm gentle dribble of water in the sink), and also loves apples and oranges. He can get ornery once in a while, if you play rough with him or if he is hungry.

I can't say enough good things about Peaches and what a great pet conures make. My wife just dropped a hint that she might like to try our own, I hope she means it because I can't wait to bring home our own friend.
