Pepino loves to be touched! He is a 1 yr old halfmoon conure, demands to be constantly attended to. Can sit on a shoulder all day long, grooms and lets you kiss, and caress his feathers, wings head and under beak. He's a lovely guy (don't know sex so just guessing), loves my husband. And loves to sleep on our chest or in his fur house. Does not say much just 'Pepino' and kissy sounds.

I got a wild caught PFC in '85 when I got out of the navy and started college, It took two years to 'finger train' her, but well worth gaining her trust! playfull, affectionate, smarter than I expected. A true companion, whose 'noise' was welcoming living alone, she literally took away the loneliness in my academic quest. She was with me until thanksgiving 1999, when I had to have her put down at UC Davis Vet. because she was so sick and weak from liver cancer and there was no treatment, it had gone to far. Even in the end she was a 'good bird'. I let the University do the necropsy so that something could be learned (both for myself and help avian medicine) turned out she had Avian Papiloma Virus that created the sores through her liver/GI track that turned cancerous and that being wild caught back then, she could of had it from parents of quarantine process, impossible to say.... I still miss her.

My father got a Peach Front in 1996. Its name is Chico. Upon my dads passing in 1998 in inherited Chico. Chico seems to find attachments with males. Chico is a wonderful member of the family. He is a great mimic. He has an amazing laugh and it seems like he always knows the right time to do it. Last year in 2013 when added a Yellow Crowned Amazon and. The get along well. Chico and be loud at times but it usually means he needs or wants something.

Hi I have a jenday conure that is about 4 months old and we have had her for a week. My stepdaughter let her out of the house today and I have no idea how to find her. We set her cage outside where she can see it but I haven't seen her in the last 5 hours and I'm really worried. Will she come home or have I lost her for good?

My jenday is named Jendy, I found him at the local pet store. When I asked for a good bird they kinda laughed, so I asked for the meanest 1 and found jendy. I gave it to my girlfriend "who is a vet tech" as a b-day present. The vet there said no one could hold him but from the first day I brought him home He loves my girlfriend, he likes to play in her hair, lol. We take him outside, he flies around a little then returns home. We leave the front door open until he returns, and yeah, the first time was an accident. He really likes to laugh with us and sounds just like me, lol. And he attacks over weight people for some reason. My neighbor is deathly scared of him, lol. happy timez

Hi, I've had my nanday bird for around a year. She has always been happy and playful. Not that long ago she started acting weird. She has been avoiding me. She has two cages, one for sleep and one for day time. She has been spending a lot of time in her 'bedroom'. She also bit me and she really has never bitten me before. Every time I try to spend time with her she just seems so sad. I don't know what's wrong with her. Can you please help me?

How old is she? My first thought is maybe she is sexually maturing and is going into a breeding cycle. Some birds seem to completely change personalities when they are going through that. My other thought is that maybe she is lonely. Are you gone a lot of the day? It's possible she is just craving more attention.

We bought a cinnamon green cheek conure two years ago. Within the first day that we brought him home I told him, 'Goodnight! I love you!' and he replied with a muffled, 'wuv you!'. Now we have also taught him how to say 'I'm a Good Baby!' and how to dance. About a year ago we also bought another cinnamon green cheek, and they both get along great together. The new conure muffles when she says 'baby', but other than that she hasn't talked. They are both the best birds anyone could ask for. However, they do have their temper tantrums every once in a while!

Hello! I just purchased a 5 yr old breeding pair of Half Moon Conures a couple of months ago from another breeder who was getting out of the bird business. They settled into their new environment very quickly. They have been mating like crazy and now she has been laying eggs for the past week. She has laid 3 eggs so far and I don't think she is finished yet. In the past she has laid up to 5 eggs and they have usually had 4 babies in a clutch. The previous owner said that they are very good parents. I will be pulling the babies after two weeks to continue hand feeding them. I will be selling the babies for $300.00 If you are interested, you can respond to this ad. I live in Montana and I will ship if necessary. All shipping expenses will be up to you. Thank you and have a great day everyone!

Hi my name is santa and my mom is interested in purchasing one of your baby half moon parrots. We live here in Los angeles and we are wondering how we can purchase a parrot from you. We are not sure how we would be able to get the bird by shipping. We are good people.

Hello! I have some hand fed babies that will be ready in about a week. I have been in the process of weaning them and I want to make sure they are eating well on their own. You can check with the airlines to see what the shipping cost would be from Bozeman, Montana to your airport. Thank you for your interest! I look forward to hearing from you.

Hi Teresa: Do you still have and breed Half-Moon Conures? I'd love to buy a female, or one you believe to be female, as sexing is risky, I realize. There arent many available and they're such gems! I live in Sioux City, Iowa. Please email: brodnjo@cableone.net or call/text 712-253-7750 Thank-you, Joanne

My wife and I have adopted a pineapple green cheek conure named George. For the last 3 months my wife has managed to train him to do amazing things. He has become very adept at fetching, spinning around and rolling over. To my amazement George can also play hoops and bowl. Green cheeks are definitely not good talkers but are amazing performers. I do have a cherry headed conure as well and I got him as a gift 30 years ago and the personalities they have are amazing. My pal is named Charlie the bird. But at times he will tell you he is Chuck or sometimes Charles, we have no idea where those names came from. But will only respond when you agree with him. He also calls the cat or dogs over with the promise of a peanut only to be rewarded with a nip and a laugh.
