I purchased Pogo around a year ago from a breeder. He had been a trade- in because of issues such as biting, feather picking, and constant screaming. The breeder I got him from hadn't even been told his name when he took him as a trade in. My granddaughter named him Pogo because of his bouncing. I wanted an African Gray, but Pogo came right to me, and the rest is history. I have no idea how old he is as he has had several owners because of his past problems. He now is a big ball of feathers that talks, barks like a dog, and rides around on my 105 lb Doberman. He also plays with the Moustache parakeet and the Budgie. He's never in his cage until "bedtime" which is all I have to say to get him in his cage. Needless to say, he's a doll and I wouldn't trade him for anything.

MY GOFFINS! MY WORLD! THE LOVE OF MY LIFE! I NEVER IN MY LIFE EXPECTED TO HAVE A CONECTION THIS STRONG! I HAVE HAD MY DINOSAUROUS FOR 2 YEARS OF MY LIFE (THE BEST 2 YEARS). I BOUGHT HIM AND READ FOUR BOOKS ABOUT PARROT CARE BEFORE I BROUGHT HIM HOME! HE WAS STILL ON ONE FEEDING AND SO I FED HIM HIS BABY FOOD. HE WEANED OFF EASILY, I THANK GOD THAT HE DID! I SPEND EVERY SECOND I CAN WITH HIM. I KISS HIM NONSTOP. I TALK TO HIM, PLAY WITH HIM AND LOVE HIM. I CONSSIDER IT AN HONOR TO OWN A WILD ANIMAL (PARROT) AND SO SHOULD ALL PEOPLE! EVERYONE SHOULD KNOW THAT THEY ARE NOT ANIMALS! THEY ARE VULNERABLE BABIES WHO LIVE THEIR LIVES UNDER OUR CONTROL AND ARE HELPLESS WHEN NOT IN THE WILD. I HATE STUPID PEOPLE WHO DON'T EDDUCATE THEMSELFS BEFORE BUYING A PARROT AND IT KILLS ME TO KNOW THAT NOT ALL BIRDS ARE LOVED THE WAY MY ANGEL IS! I THANK HIM FOR BEING IN MY LIFE EVERY NIGHT!

I've had Jordi for 5 months now. He was in the Pet shop for 2 years -nobody would buy him cause of the feather plucking.

I've spent most of my vacation time with him, gave him a huge cage, built him a tree and given him tons of toys. Even when i go work in the morning, i let him out of his cage, in the bird room with by tiels and budgies, which have their own pen.

He has never plucked a feather again, is beautiful now, very playful and expressive. He has learned to say Hello, Peanut, Up- Pet-me, to give me the paw, to wave... He is very jealous and possessive, and so active and acrobatic. He loves to destroy all kind of stuff. He dances, loves music...

Life would not be the same without Jordi. I love this bird!

I have four birds but my goffin's cockatoo Bobby is my favorite. He is such a cuddle bum. He loves to be petted all over; head, wings, tail, feet, he doesn't care as long as the petting keeps comming! His favorite toy is a blue toothbrush which he likes to fling around. He will hold the toothbrush in his feet and roll onto his back. He also hops around in front of a big mirror I have on my bedroom door. I think he knows its his reflection. Bobby has a very big vocabulary for a cockatoo. He says "I love you" "hello bobby" "hello mom" "how ya doing" "I am a good bird" "hey" "hi" "bobby birdie" and a few other things that aren't yet clear enough for me to figure out. Bobby has tons of toys but is always afraid of new ones the first day. Then he figures out they are fun instead of scarey and plays with them. He likes to watch TV from his cage. His favorite TV shows are Planets Funniest Animal's and Pet Star. He gets all excited when another cockatoo is on TV.

Goffins Cockatoos are wonderful for someone who has time to spend snuggling and playing with them. Mine LOVES to be on me where ever I go and whatever I am doing. They arent as bad of screamers as everyone says, Just when they are excited or upset about something. Goffins love to hop around, hang upsidown, dance and vocalize. They are really great birds, they can also be very emotional so please always treat them with respect, remember if they wanted to they could do a lot of harm but they choose not to because they love you. They deserve that love in return.

Nemo, my 1 1/2 year old is our class clown. We wrestle back an forth with a white plastic bottle cap. He pulls it from my mouth, beaks it a bit, then puts it back in my mouth again for more. He'll do this for an hour if I could hang with him!
When he wants to go to sleep on me, I have to rub his foot. If I don't he'll try to pick up my fingers and look at his feet.

I just adopted a 10yr old goffin. She never has to be in a cage again b/c I let her out all day long. She hardly screams, only at play time. She can be very sweet, but doesn't like to cuddle too much and she bites if you bother her too much. She is a very moody bird, but we love her so much. I don't think she got much attention with her previous owners b/c she is scared of all toys and sticks. Im hoping she will come out of her shell soon and let me cuddle with her some more.

I have a goffin, and he is a very wonderful compainion. The only problem i have with him is that he needs alot of attention... I spend 4 to 5 hours a day with him and only him.. Goffins are great pets, and they deserve a wonderful caring home.. So be sure you have the time before buying a little screamer!

Goffins are so great to be as a pet. They are very playful parrots they love to stay out of the cage at all times. They are sweet parrots but, if you are nice to them they will be nice to you.
