We just brought our baby rosie home from the breeder August 6,2005.
Her name is Bella. We absolutely love her she is so beautiful, and has the sweetest personality. She came into a family of many birds, she has a brother Stevie (b&g macaw) Gordon(dyh amazon) and Chai (umberella cockatoo)plus her other 4 siblings(cockateils & budgie). Our children as well as the wife and I love all of our birds, all of our friends call our home a bird house

I have a goffin, and he is a very wonderful compainion. The only problem i have with him is that he needs alot of attention... I spend 4 to 5 hours a day with him and only him.. Goffins are great pets, and they deserve a wonderful caring home.. So be sure you have the time before buying a little screamer!

I have had my cockatoo for 1 1/2 yrs now and I believe he is about 9 yrs. old. He came from a San Diego pet shop. I think he may have been mistreated because he freaks out when he sees black or a stick. He has saved my sanity from time to time and he likes to cuddle especially in the morning. He must have 100's of different sounds. I love him so much and I have tamed him quite a bit. He can get very excited sometimes and bite. He does alot of tricks and is very smart. When I come home from work, I will bring him outside so he can watch me water the plants. He will be perched on the back of a chair in the sun and I will mist him with the sprayer. I love the way he smells. He enjoys having his wing muscles massaged under his wings. When I feel like being silly I will blow raspberries on his tummy.

Purchasing a Umbrella Cockatoo is almost like adopting a child. They are wonderful but also a big commitment. He was my only baby before I had children. He and I are having a hard time adjusting to the new schedule (with children). Cockatoos need a lot of attention and it is hard with young children because they don't quite understand how to be gentle. he is caged more than he would like and gets very loud about it. My children are getting older and its getting easier. These birds do prefer to be the "baby" and get alot of attention! Attention is very important to these birds happiness.

I purchased a Lesser sulphur crested cockatoo in Nov.2004 he was born in July. He was tame and gentle, but at times he had his moments. He was so demanding that my life was centered around him. After 5 months I called the breeder and returned the LSC back to her. It broke my heart. I get very attacted to animals very easily, especially when he was so sweet most of the time. I would like to let people know how much time they require and how messy they are. Think many times before you make a decision. I learned the hard way.

I have a little male galah I call Dusty. He will be two years old this month. He is sweet and loving, on his terms, when he wants. He loves to hang upside down and screech, telling the world how happy he is. He makes toothpicks out of his toys and is beautiful. I would not give him up for anything or anyone.

I have a 17 month old hand reared Mollucan cockatoo who is an absolute sweetie pie, she has the most beautiful wings I have ever seen and thats why named her Angie, short for Angel. Never in my life have I come across a bird as loving as Angie. Angie talks and whistles non stop all day, she says words such as 'Hello Noo-noo, Helloooo my baby and Angie'. She makes alot of mess and chews any thing she can get her beak on, her huge cage is a mission to clean everyday but I dont mind. I am the happiest bird owner in the whole world. I couldnt have asked for a more loving companion!!

I have a cockatoo and he is very "attention wanting" Most people say that they are sweet kind natured birds but my cockatoo IS NOT!! Unless you hold him every second of the day he can get very grumpy and bite. He definitly has an attitude. The chewing part is correct, my bird has got to be immortal, he has eaten everything in the book that will kill a bird and hes still living. He has gotten a hold of cigerettes, plant fertilizer, permenent markers, elecrtrical wires, you name hes eaten it. He also has a very strange behavioral problem, he hates men, he will only go to women. When we first had him he loved my father to death and wouldnt let anyone touch him. It lasted all of about a week. He also likes trying to climb the lamp and he likes licking the light bulb when its like really hot, is this strange?

hi - we have just brought our first cockatoo, it is 16 weeks and very inquisitive.

We have called him cheeky, he has a nice new cage and on day 2 is taking sunflower seeds from all the family we have 3 children who are 12 13 and 14 - they all love him.

He was dancing tonight and pulling his wings back and clapping, he is a real entertainer.

We moved to Brisbane from UK in october 2004 it is now nearly february 2005 and we have just settled in our house, and Cheeky has complete our family, we are so happy and he now takes preference over the TV as he is more entertaining.
