I purchased a Lesser sulphur crested cockatoo in Nov.2004 he was born in July. He was tame and gentle, but at times he had his moments. He was so demanding that my life was centered around him. After 5 months I called the breeder and returned the LSC back to her. It broke my heart. I get very attacted to animals very easily, especially when he was so sweet most of the time. I would like to let people know how much time they require and how messy they are. Think many times before you make a decision. I learned the hard way.

I have a little male galah I call Dusty. He will be two years old this month. He is sweet and loving, on his terms, when he wants. He loves to hang upside down and screech, telling the world how happy he is. He makes toothpicks out of his toys and is beautiful. I would not give him up for anything or anyone.

I have a 17 month old hand reared Mollucan cockatoo who is an absolute sweetie pie, she has the most beautiful wings I have ever seen and thats why named her Angie, short for Angel. Never in my life have I come across a bird as loving as Angie. Angie talks and whistles non stop all day, she says words such as 'Hello Noo-noo, Helloooo my baby and Angie'. She makes alot of mess and chews any thing she can get her beak on, her huge cage is a mission to clean everyday but I dont mind. I am the happiest bird owner in the whole world. I couldnt have asked for a more loving companion!!

I have a cockatoo and he is very "attention wanting" Most people say that they are sweet kind natured birds but my cockatoo IS NOT!! Unless you hold him every second of the day he can get very grumpy and bite. He definitly has an attitude. The chewing part is correct, my bird has got to be immortal, he has eaten everything in the book that will kill a bird and hes still living. He has gotten a hold of cigerettes, plant fertilizer, permenent markers, elecrtrical wires, you name hes eaten it. He also has a very strange behavioral problem, he hates men, he will only go to women. When we first had him he loved my father to death and wouldnt let anyone touch him. It lasted all of about a week. He also likes trying to climb the lamp and he likes licking the light bulb when its like really hot, is this strange?

hi - we have just brought our first cockatoo, it is 16 weeks and very inquisitive.

We have called him cheeky, he has a nice new cage and on day 2 is taking sunflower seeds from all the family we have 3 children who are 12 13 and 14 - they all love him.

He was dancing tonight and pulling his wings back and clapping, he is a real entertainer.

We moved to Brisbane from UK in october 2004 it is now nearly february 2005 and we have just settled in our house, and Cheeky has complete our family, we are so happy and he now takes preference over the TV as he is more entertaining.

We have had Zeus, our female cockatoo, since she was a baby ... her feathers were just coming in .. boy she was ugly! LOL We allowed the pet store to wean her until she dropped her lunch meal then I took her home and hand fed her the rest of the way. She is now aprox 3 going on 4 years now. She is the sweetest bird a person could ask for. She is not usual in the cockatoos as in that she is not a big yeller .. although when she actually does decide to scream she makes up for all her past silence ... right now she is over preening herself so we are trying to discover why she is doing this. But she is a big baby and would suggest to anyone looking for a snuggle bird to consider the Umbi ... but please research your purchase and understand the cockatoo before purchasing.

My mollucan cockatoo Sulu is one of the most active birds I own. if she is not chewing all the wood in the house, she is screaming "I am cute, you are not" at the top of her lungs. She is just like a two year old and she makes you work hard, but she is worth the effort.
