I haven't gotten my citron but I am saving, then I'm going to tell my breeder when I'm ready so she can get me one. They are really cool birds very affectionate and cuddly. They are also not as demanding as the other larger cockatoos. They can be a little loud at times but most birds are loud at times. If your'e thinking about getting a citron GO FOR IT but remember to do your homework first because they aren't a good bird for a beginner.

My umbrella coackatoo(joe) was a rescue bird, and who ever thinks that rescue birds wouldn't be as friendly as store bought birds they are completely wrong. my cockatoo joe is extremely loving intelligent and cudly. joe was origionally willed to me and my family from my grandmas friend. but he started coming to my house to visit me and my family. the first time he came for a visit to my house, he didnt want to go back to his old house. so we have had joe for 5 months now and he is one of the best things that have ever happened to me. We take joe everywhere we go and he loves to come with us. we take him to childrens hospitals to visit the kids, old age homes, and also to numerous schools. joe can say approximately 50 words which is more then average for a cockatoo. he can also do lots of tricks! i have many other birds including budgies, cockatiels, asian crested dove, a rosella parrot and thats about all, but my umbrella cockatoo is definitely the one that is most involved with my family!

MY GOFFINS! MY WORLD! THE LOVE OF MY LIFE! I NEVER IN MY LIFE EXPECTED TO HAVE A CONECTION THIS STRONG! I HAVE HAD MY DINOSAUROUS FOR 2 YEARS OF MY LIFE (THE BEST 2 YEARS). I BOUGHT HIM AND READ FOUR BOOKS ABOUT PARROT CARE BEFORE I BROUGHT HIM HOME! HE WAS STILL ON ONE FEEDING AND SO I FED HIM HIS BABY FOOD. HE WEANED OFF EASILY, I THANK GOD THAT HE DID! I SPEND EVERY SECOND I CAN WITH HIM. I KISS HIM NONSTOP. I TALK TO HIM, PLAY WITH HIM AND LOVE HIM. I CONSSIDER IT AN HONOR TO OWN A WILD ANIMAL (PARROT) AND SO SHOULD ALL PEOPLE! EVERYONE SHOULD KNOW THAT THEY ARE NOT ANIMALS! THEY ARE VULNERABLE BABIES WHO LIVE THEIR LIVES UNDER OUR CONTROL AND ARE HELPLESS WHEN NOT IN THE WILD. I HATE STUPID PEOPLE WHO DON'T EDDUCATE THEMSELFS BEFORE BUYING A PARROT AND IT KILLS ME TO KNOW THAT NOT ALL BIRDS ARE LOVED THE WAY MY ANGEL IS! I THANK HIM FOR BEING IN MY LIFE EVERY NIGHT!

I love my Mollucan cocckatoo"Peaches"! She (I think) is such a great bird. She is a 3rd or 4th hand bird, but now I think she finally met the right home for her. They are so sensitive and intellegent that the appropriate home is so important to the bird and it's companion. Some birds (or any other animal) will bond with people they know will truly care about them. BUT... if my dog or cat required $3000 in surgery (according to a vet) I'm not sure what choice I hAVE? "If i were a rich man"...... LOL. I guess i should have pursued my dreams instead of becoming an art teacher.....

I live in Houston, TX so I couldn't have been more surprised to find a rosie on my door step. I've had pets of all kinds in my life but aside from nursing a sick or injured wild bird, I've never even considered a pet bird. The bird showed up 05/05, I started calling him Larry (the only bird name I could think of). I diligently looked for his owner but no one claimed him. It's been 7 months now and I don't think I'd give him up if I had to. I'm kinda learning as I go about care etc and he does require alot of attention but he's a good friend. The best pets are the ones that pick you.

Although our Citron Crested Cockatoo wasnt treated properly for first 5 years of life until we brought her home she is a joy to have around and we treasure her very much. She is great to be around but not for everyone to own since they are very demanding on time and attention. Best of luck to all our feathered friends.

We have had Galahs for over 25 years having raised two males from fledgings in Australia. We received permission from the Australilan Government to take them with us to the US via quarantine in 1982. Luke passed away this past March, cause unknown, so now Laddie is a bit lonely. Be aware that in our experience they do BITE.

They love corn on the cob, spaghetti, chicken wing bones, and scrambled eggs. They have never been clipped but can no longer fly for any distance. The are wonderful loving birds but do need lots of attention and get testy when left alone.

I've had Jordi for 5 months now. He was in the Pet shop for 2 years -nobody would buy him cause of the feather plucking.

I've spent most of my vacation time with him, gave him a huge cage, built him a tree and given him tons of toys. Even when i go work in the morning, i let him out of his cage, in the bird room with by tiels and budgies, which have their own pen.

He has never plucked a feather again, is beautiful now, very playful and expressive. He has learned to say Hello, Peanut, Up- Pet-me, to give me the paw, to wave... He is very jealous and possessive, and so active and acrobatic. He loves to destroy all kind of stuff. He dances, loves music...

Life would not be the same without Jordi. I love this bird!
