I just want to let everybody know how great Buddy and Max were. Buddy died 9 years ago because he was overweight and got a lung infection and died in just two days. They sure go away fast. Maxie died almost two years ago now. He was never the healthiest bird and one day he got sick and died a few days later. They were both my best friends and always will be. I look forward to the day that I will be with them both again. We still have Tiki, a lilac crowned and Jackie, another Blue front, Maxies friend. Tiki was Buddys friend and roommate. We all miss you and love you Buddy and Max.

I have owned Baby Cakes ( Cakers) since he was 4 mths and he is now 7 years. He can be challenging with his play biting some days but mostly he is a wonderful companion. I have had many different types of parrots over the years and have felt a bond with my Amazon more than any other parrot. He is DNA'd a male and fiesty and lovable all in one big green body. He sings the whole Happy Birthday song almost everday since I taught him 4 years ago.(It is my Husbands birthday everyday now!) He talks very clearly and laughs. When I have company over they just cut up laughing at him when he laughs.
I have now bought an adorable baby Double Yellow Male and hope to establish a close relationship with him as well. Love their outging nature!

My family was given a ten year old Yellow-nape Amazon for Christmas last year. She has been the most wonderful bird! We let her out of her cage during the day. She stays on the top. She talks so much! She sings music scales and then she sings 5 different songs. She will whistle songs. She pretends she is on the phone all the time! She now rings like the phone! She needs lots of attention but she is worth it! I hold her two days a week. She is quite moody but also very loving. I love our parrot!

He, I have been reading all these wonderful coments. I happen to be getting an orange wing amazon this week. They say it is a male but I dont think it has been dna sexed. His name is Ivan and he is four years old. He belonged to a woman who developed cancer and passed away. Unfortunatly, he was more and more forgotten as she got more ill and he is a bit weary now but I have confidence he will come around. At one time he was very tame and even trick trained. The lady who is selling him now is his origional breeder and has had him for 3 months since the owner died. She says he is making amazing progress. So far he has said for her Hello, and HI Ivan. I am so excited to bring him home. I already have a year and half old female ecectus who is very sweet. I wonder if they will get along.

My White Fronted Amazon has been sexed a female. I have noticed when she is very content, that she exudes a musky odor. This is on top of her normal "amazon odor". I have not seen any documentation regarding this. My Yellow Nape does not do this.

My family has cared for two panama-amazons now for 33 years. Peter Pan and Captain Cook have an extensive vocabulary and continue to pick up new wonderful sounds and words. They love fresh fruits and vegetables but never pass up a chance to eat from our plates either. Their intelligence never ceases to amaze me. Amazons make amazing pets and family members.

We just got a 15 yr old BLIND Mealy. I purchased him on Christmas Eve 2006. He has Cataracts in both eyes, poor thing :( Paco is the nicest bird that you could ask for. I also own a Moluccan Cockatoo & a Senegal parrot. Paco is adapting very well to his new home and boy what an appetite he has. Happy Holidays from David & Ronna 2006 So. Cali.

My BFA is called Ollie. Had him since he was 13wks old, and is now 7mths.
Ollie is just like having another child in our home, and is treated like a baby and doesn't he just know it, lol. He has everything we have, share's bath time with all of us. I hate to see any animal caged. Ollie has the free roam of our home, he sleep's upstairs with us, then comes down with the children for his breakfast.
Such a great talker too, his favorite sayings have to be "Ollie's a good boy", "Hello" in about 10 different way's, "Daddy", "Ollie's dad", "that's my dad", call's me "mar", say's when asked where jack or stacey is, "gone to school", "kiss kiss dad", "ollie's a pain".
When he is out of site and i call him he shouts back "what" he will also ask what your doing.
He waits in the window for our return or waiting for his daddy to come home, then all heck breaks loose.
Ollie is my bird but when his daddy is home no one may as well be home.
He is such a sweet bird, has his moments and ends up in jail as the kids say.
Birds can be so misunderstood, all they need is time and understanding, Ollie can be a naughty boy as with all birds.
Never mistreat them and you will get years of happiness and love back.
