I have a year old lorikeet called Toot. Toot is very amazing and loves attention. He loves to get out of his cage to fly around. He loves to chat. He says: Hello,Come on,Come,Whatcha doin?, Whats that?,Whats that smell? And he also says my husbands name, which is Robert. Toot also says a lot of other words, but these are the main words he says. I love this bird a great deal and i cant imagine my life without him.

We have a family of ringnecks who live in the wild and come several times a day to our feeder in SW Florida. They love sunflower seeds, and will stay at the feeder for 10-15 minutes at a time sometimes. The youngsters stay and eat the most.

My son just gave me a pair of parakeets, he had no idea I had wanted a pair for over a year. I love them! They are so sweet. Their names are "Nip" and "Tuck", they are just getting used to sitting on my finger. Your website is invaluable for information on making their new home as comfortable as possible for them. Thank you!

Sisser was my best friend and the dearest pet I have ever had. I was 13 when I got him, he was yellow with a green spot between his wings
and a tiny green spot on his chest also. His feet were pink and his pretty little beak was orange with a light purple nose. It was love at first sight. He loved to sleep in my hand or on my pillow. He was always out of his cage and always with me...in the shower or when I did homework. At three months of age he started talking saying: Sisser, I love you, You are sooo handsome, Good morning sweethart,
I want to take a bath, Shake(he would shake my finger with his foot)
and honestly I can not remember all his phrases. He was so tame
and so smart. When I turned 18 my parents hired a fashion photographer to capture his funny antics and my gift was a wall full of the most impossibly cute pictures of a fav yellow friend. He came with me to college and picked up a few un-classy words on the way. He was tougher on boyfriends than my dad was. He drew blood on one who tried to kiss me in front of him(he warned him with loud hissing first, he SHOULD have backed off). Well, at age 21 I fell in love with my american husband and moved from Denmark to the US leaving Sisser with my parents. Mom said he was happy and playful still and always out. He died at age 13 after having slowed down for about six months. I could not stop crying despite knowing he had had the happiest life any bird could want. But then I had a black and gray tattoo done of him on my ankle and so I feel he is still with me. I now have three birds, four dogs, four turtles, two cats and a hamster and I am studying to become a vet. I love you Sisser, till we meet again at the Rainbow Bridge. Charlotte.

I have a 4 1/2-5 week old rainbow lorikeet crossed with a red naped lorikeet and if you walk past the cage without getting her out she starts making weird noises and wont shut up until you get her out. She loves cuddles and is such a sweetie.

To anyone who wishes to get one you will have a great pet but I urge you to please find out all you can beforehand and make sure you have enough time to spend with him or her.

i have a 5 week old lorikeet who loves to come out of her cage. if you leave him/her in the cage he/she will start to make all sorts of weired noises and wont shutup untill she is let out. Scooby is a real sweety.

I urge anyone whishing to buy a lorrikeet to please reasearch as much as possible first and to ensure you can spend adequate time with your bird.

hello fellow parrot lovers. I have two CAGs one cockatoo and my new 3 year old blue and gold who is a rescue. in fact three out of four of my babies are rescues. heres the question to anyone out there.
Kala, my new babe has fit in and settled very nicely with our family and is a part of the flock, with all my others being boys cept my 18 year old female CAG I have never had to deal with, well female puberty! And Shes got it big time, she tore all the papers from the bottom of her cage. I tried brown paper bags, white paper towels, due to not wanting her to get sick from ink, until finally I used old regular towels to line the bottom of her cage now, she has dragged all the towels up, made a nest, wont poop in her cage and the other am laid her first egg. unfertilized since I dont breed. WoW! What do I do! have lots of different options but love your site and would love an answer how do I get her up off the floor from her home made nest, and poop in her cage again? I am getting her HIgh Potency food to make up for the calcium loss and her health is wonderful the egg was perfect, but my my; she just wants to you know
what all the time I here her in her cage LOL, and I am at odds of just what to do thanks!
