I recently got a peached-faced lovebird as gift from my dad for christmas last year. Her name is Peaches. Lovebirds are so cute and interesting that I wrote a two-page report on Lovebirds for my biology class this past school year. I spoil my lovebird with fruits and vegetables. It is so funny because I have Peaches and Delilah in the same cage together, and they get along so well. I think my Lovebird is falling in love with my parakeet because of the way they get along with each other. I asked my Biology teacher if I could mix my lovebird's DNA with my parakeet's DNA, and she said it's possible if you do it in a laboratory, but they'll never have babies together. If that should ever happen, I could create a new species of bird. I'll call it, "the Loveakeet!" Lovebirds make great pets because they love you, and whoever/whatever it is around. Lovebirds are the coolest!

Last year for my fiveteenth birthday, a got a female colbalt budgie. Her name is Delilah, which I named her after the radio talk show host on a certain light rock station. I was sad when both Huckle and Clarissa died last year. The cause of death was unknown, even though I think it might have been from natural causes. Anyway, my dad tought little Delilah a new noise. She kinda sounds like a pigeon when she chirps. The other day I was training her how to talk, and when I left the room, it sounded like she said, "Don't leave me." Parakeets are the coolest!

I have a 1 yr green cheek. She is just starting to talk. She screams when you leave the room unless you tell her good-bye. Which is what I tell her everyday when I leave for work. I am still working with her an a better contact call. but she is my baby so we deal with it.

It's really an interesting article. It encourages me to spend more efforts to train my eclectus parrots to speak. I used to keep 4 eclectus parrots, but no one spoke.

Hi, I'm from Australia and we found our Alexandrine. Actually he found us. He walked (didn't fly) into my wifes work one day and started talking. When it became her turn to take him home for the weekend we both fell in love with him. We placed posters at the local shops, city newspapers, etc about a missing parrot (we didn't know what he was). No body collected him so he was ours. 9 months or so later he grew his ring, and we've taught him a lot.
He gives kisses when asked, can say a lot of stuff. Has a diet coke addiction (doesn't like normal coke), eats breakfast lunch and dinner with us (I work from home).
He goes through toys and ladders like there is no tomorrow. We've even made him a stainless steel ladder because he was eating through two a month. We've since placed a nice softwood we found in the bush in his cage.
The only weird thing is, he lets almost every female pat him, he actually loves it, but never lets me or any male touch anything but his beak. I guess he must have been mistreaded by a male owner previously.
We absolutely love him, he is a part of the family.

hello. my daughter got a bird for her birthday. she named him fruity. this is our first time having a pet like this. she is scared of him but my son lets him out everyday to let him fly. i really want to know what type of bird it is, and if he could really talk. after looking at some of the pictures, i think he is a budgie. my son loves him more than my daughter does. i am glad that they have a pet and i hope they can train him to talk.

I used to have 5 budigies and they all died. Now I bought 2 new budgies. I have had them about 3 months.they're blue and green. the green is a little mean but he is still nice. Their names are Blue Bird and Green Bird. thats because we don't what names to call them, so its Blue Bird and Green Bird.

I just got two greenwing Macaws. They are adults, male and female. I wanted to buy one of their babies but the women loved this baby so much, she offered the parents. I said yes and here I am trying to find out all I can about them. I have had them about 1 month but somehow I love them already. The
male will let me feed him and he will say hi. the lady is still not too sure. These are my first Marcaws. I have loved this web sight and have learned alot.
