I have an eight year old, male, senegal. I took him in when he was 4 from a family that did not have the time to spend with him. I named him Tarzan due to his king like attitude. He had many behavioral problems when I first got him, but is a much happier and loving bird now. His favorite activities are swinging on tree branches, dunking his head into his water, and tourmenting my roomates dogs. although most senegals are said to be relativley quit, Tarzan is very vocal and is slowly building his vocab. His favorte phrases are "baby baby", "pretty bird", and of coure his very loud king of the jungle call. This year I brought Tarzan to college with me and he has fit in perfectly. He has learned to trust strangers and is a regular party animal. he is such a great friend to have!

My budgies are the sweetest in the world! One is blue, white and black. The other is completely yellow and very small. Her type is a dark-eyed clearwing so they don't grow big at all. She is always pulling on the elastic I put in their cage. the blue one is also a female who is very dominent.

I have a goffin, and he is a very wonderful compainion. The only problem i have with him is that he needs alot of attention... I spend 4 to 5 hours a day with him and only him.. Goffins are great pets, and they deserve a wonderful caring home.. So be sure you have the time before buying a little screamer!

I have owned my Yellow Crowned Amazon, Bimini, since 1976; that makes him about 30 years old. He is a 1-man bird, loves me but is skeptical about anyone else. He has a pretty good vocabulary -- pretty bird, hello how are you, wolf whistle, hi I'm Bimini. He still calls for Lila the cat who has been dead now for fifteen years. (Breaks my heart.) Since we live in the Florida Keys, he stays outside year-round in or on his cage in the shade with the door open, loves a misting with the garden hose, alerts us at sundown, lets us know it is dinner time. (He loves meat and potatoes, a meat-eating parrot, exceedingly rare.) Although his wings are not clipped, I still take him around for a bike ride on my shoulder sometimes when things are quiet. He is in great shape, never had a sick day in his life. Evidently they live forever.

Hi my name is Jess and i just got a sun conure for my birthday, i already have 60+ budgerigars, ecelectus, corellas, finche, canaries, galahs, cockatiels and quails and this is another to add to the manargery :)

well this is the second day i have had it, its only 8 weeks so hasnt been sexed yet. his name is Rusti and is very good at playing dead, almost gave me a heart attack lol. It isnt very friendly yet but i am hand feeding it so it should get used to me pretty soon, he loves his cuddles and as soon as i leave it alone it screams really loud. Although i know sun conures arent too good at talking i hope mine will be able to say atleast "Rusti" and "wanna kiss?" its favourite position is on its back licking its foot. weird i know, but every time i check on it thats what its doing, probably like ababy sucking its thumb :) anyway im so excited and have heard only good things about them so i hope Rusti will be my next best friend

I have had my budgie for about a year. Her name is Banana because she is yellow and black. I love her so much. When I take her out she will sit on my shoulder like she is right now. banana is learning to talk and she sings all the time. My budgie is a very good friend because she listens and doesn't talk back at me. When she is in her cage, she dances to the music on the TV. She bobs her head up and down and jumps all around her cage and will start singing. I love my Banana.:)

i have a budgie named Jessica. What a sweetie! I got her on Sunday at a flea market. I want to train her so she will land on my hand so I can stroke her. Lauren, 10

I recently got a peached-faced lovebird as gift from my dad for christmas last year. Her name is Peaches. Lovebirds are so cute and interesting that I wrote a two-page report on Lovebirds for my biology class this past school year. I spoil my lovebird with fruits and vegetables. It is so funny because I have Peaches and Delilah in the same cage together, and they get along so well. I think my Lovebird is falling in love with my parakeet because of the way they get along with each other. I asked my Biology teacher if I could mix my lovebird's DNA with my parakeet's DNA, and she said it's possible if you do it in a laboratory, but they'll never have babies together. If that should ever happen, I could create a new species of bird. I'll call it, "the Loveakeet!" Lovebirds make great pets because they love you, and whoever/whatever it is around. Lovebirds are the coolest!
