I have a one year old Peachfronted Conure called Picasso. It is a purely WONDERFUL bird. A very intelligent companion who likes to nibble on everything, including my shoes. It does not speak yet but the signs are there.

I have two sun conures. Both are rescues. As numerous bird books explain, a rescued bird is hard to handle since you have to teach them all the proper behavior and skills they needed to learn from their first owners.
My first sun, Charlie (one of the reasons I HAD to buy him), was a big biter, a big screamer, etc. Basically he was one of those birds that most people would just as soon strangle than look at. He bonded with me within a week. It took me a month of anguish and pain to rid him of excessive screaming and other bad habits.
My second sun, Petout (pronounced Pee-too), was given to me by my landlady who was a single mom with two kids and very little time for a bird. Petout was a womans bird. She hated men and bit them if they ever got near. I was amazed. It only took me about a day to stop her from biting me. Her behavior tends to be better than Charlie.
Both birds are very loving and sociable now. Aside from occasional screaming (when someone walks by my window) and annoying beeps (imitating the microwave), they are fantastic. I find that suns only get noisy when excited, scared, or surprised in some way. Otherwise they are VERY quiet. Petout has a cute little meep meep when shes sociable. And Charlie has a goofy little squEEeeEEK that imitates a sqeaky door and gives TONS of kissy noises when strangers are about. When Charlie knows hes been bad, or is angry at something, he shouts no (the only clear word he speaks) and grumbles. Thats about it for noise. I love these birds more than anything. The are absolutely my children and I will always treat them as such.

Our Yellow-Collared is funny. He loves to dance. If you sing to him he dances, and if you are laughing and he is on your shoulder, he will laugh with you. It is hillarious.

I have a parakeet and his name is pretty boy. He is the best bird in the whole world. He can say so many things. He can say his name, ring like a phone, and do all sorts of noises that i do. He even laughs at you. He is awesome. i give him treats everday and i spoil him. He has lots of toys he plays with. I dont know why they say dont give them a mirror..because he loves it and he still pays attention to me. I have the coolest bird in the world.

I am from South Africa and have seen macaws only a few times. I do not have a macaw, but I do have an African Grey, 3 ringnecks and 2 white doves(as I like to call them because they are called so many names I do not know which one is the proper name). I am dying to get one and have been trying to find out prices without much luck. I must say that you have an ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC website and have the most beautiful pictures of macaws. All the macaws look healthy and happy. Keep up the good work with the website and may you and all your/the macaws stay healthy and have a good life.

My first Macaw was a Blue & Gold my second was a Green Wing. There is no comparision to the two. The Green Wing is very lovable and trustworthy. My Blue and Gold would cuddle up to you and then take a bite out of your face. My Green Wing never did anything like that. He loved cuddles and kisses and eating with me. I had to leave him behind in America when I moved to England. I now have a female Green Wing and she is wonderful. She loves cuddles and kisses and is very smart. My mother now has my Green Wing along with a female blue and gold and two scarlets. All three of hers will rip your hand off if you get near them. I thought maybe it is the female macaws that are mean. But now I have a female and she is even more gentle than my male.

Sapphire is about five years, old he is a blue headed pionus. He is very sweet and he talks really well. Sapphire gets along well with me and my family as well as the dog. He acts like a dog when he is on the floor, it is so funny. I love him so much!! He does not bite me but he has bitten my mom because he knew she was going to put him in his cage and he likes to be out!! Sapphire has been good with kids to. He has been the best pet. We all love him and the dog (Chevy) does too. He is a copy cat. you can believe that so you better watch what you say and do because he can move his head just like you do! We all like to be together.

I have a parakeet named Jade. He is the sweetest bird! Last month we almost lost him to a thyroid condition. His thyroid became so enlarged that he had difficulty breathing and swallowing. He was listless, wobbly, shivering, and ruffled. He kept acting like he was trying to clear something from his throat. We were very concerned, and did not want this fabulous little guy to die, so I took him to an avian vet. I learned there that birds that eat strictly a seed diet need an iodine supplement. If they don
