Our lutino, Beaker, was hand raised in 1990. He's very sweet and beautiful. He has been known to chew the edges off an expensive paper lampshade and also the gilt off an antique picture frame! After that, we learned our lesson and keep his wings slightly clipped so he will stay on our shoulder. He goes outside with us, loves the garden dirt, goes nuts for fresh raspberries, and screeches shrilly at other birds. He becomes very agitated if we walk away from him. While in the care of a friend, he watched their female bird shred paper for her nest. Now his favorite pasttime is shredding paper, in cage or out! He also lifts the moveable doors on his cage and lets them smash down. This he does over and over w/o giving up as his signal that he wants to come out. It can become quite annoying!
One thing: the lovebird DOES NEED COMPANIONSHIP!! He will get sick w/o it; we learned this the hard way. He became neurotic and began chewing his back end, pulling out the feathers until he was bald and raw! We had to love him back to health and now make a point of always touching him and letting him out on our shoulder. We wear a towel clipped with a clothespin to keep our shirt clean, and after he has been loved, he nestles in our neck or under our chin. While on our shoulder he eats our human food and takes frequent drinks of water. He loves a water bath and takes one every day with his cool, fresh water.

We have a 4 year old male blue front amazon named JoJo. We are his second owner and his last. He is my husband's bird. He will only come to the rest of us if his "daddy" is not home and he would like some attention. He has quite the vocabulary, some not too good thanks to his previous owner. We have weeded out a lot of them by making sure he never hears the words again. He will tell us "night night" in the evening. He will also say tickle tickle, JoJo dirty bird, JoJo good bird, hello when the phone rings or he hears a knock at the door. When we come home he will call out "hello baby" to the point were my husband has thought I was home. He knows our vehicles to the point you hear him calling out hello and screeching before we are in the driveway. He has bonded with our quacker to the point that the quacker more or less shares his cage. He is only very friendly to others when he feels like it. His previous owner was a woman and I believe she was mean to him as it took him months to even take food from me. He is very much apart of our family even with the little attitude he has. That's what makes him our JoJo.

We have a bonded pair of Galahs, named Didlee (Female) and Goober (Male). They are absolute characters. We have had Didlee for 4 years and Goober will be three this year, both bought as little birdies. It hasn't taken either of them long to work out who is boss though...they are. Their favourite toys are toilet rolls, rolls of sticky tape and nail clippers. They are spoilt brats, who get taken outside to their 'Lounge', a 1.5x1.5m aviary every day(wrapped in a towel so they dont fly away - we do not clip their wings) and at night before it gets too cool they are brought in again to their 'bedroom' - the indoor cage. Their favourite food is corn on the cob and mashed potatos, and they get free flight times all around the inside of the house....and trust me its LOUD. They are friends to a couple of Rosey Burkes (Rosy and Burke) and two finches (Lilo and Twitch) as well as numerous fish which they like to watch, and a cat (Julius) who they tell off when he catches their Pigeon friends.
All in all they are very enjoyable and I hope one day they will breed.

Hello ....I have to say I purchased a wonderful little budgie named SKY in July 2003. He was the most lovable little creature I had ever seen. He could talk, he would speak about 25 to 30 words and his words were so clear. he would say everybody's name in the family and he would call out our little dogs name. He would have supper with us, he would go to sleep with us in our bedroom, he would take showers under the faucet sink he would be funny, and he would stay on our shoulder around the house. but one day, Sept 27th 2005, I came home from work and he was at the bottom of his cage and he was not moving, so I knew then he was not alive. that was the worst day I experience in my life. we will never know what happen to him that day. He was fine that morning, he was playing with my daughter and was talking to her We just don't undersand "WHY". SKY was my best friend and our family will never forget him. I would recommend anybody to purchase a budgie because they are amazing, especially if you take the time with them and the patience. if you love them they will love you back.

Hey everyone, with all the talk about the GW I finally have one coming home with me. It is waiting for the DNA to come back. Hopefully It will be here in the next two weeks. I had to order the cage first. Never having such a big bird before is very exciting to me. I have done so much research on this bird and want to have everything ready for it before it comes home. It is only four months old. Thanks, Ramona

Jenday Conures are awsome birds! I own two: Spanky and Boo-boo. They are very beautiful, affectionate, and smart. They love to be cuddled. They are great with my 6 year old daughter Paige. Anyone who wants a great bird and a good friend should buy a Jenday Conure.

Hi, My name is Sandra and I got my first Quaker from my Sister in March of 2005. His name is Tango. he's 11 years old and he was the meanest little guy I have ever met, but I had to give him a chance. When I brought him home my plan was to just offer him food, water and enjoy him from this side his cage. well one day when I was feeding and watering him he got out and I was terrified. I didn't know what I was going to do. He kept walking towards me and I kept backing up until finally I reached down and he climbed up on my hand (without biting) so I put him on his play pen. Every day we did this and little by little every day we grew closer and closer. So needless to say 6 months later we are now Best Bud's. we shower together and Tango goes shopping with me in the pet pocket I got for Him. He goes to car shows, family events, and he has even gone to Las Vegas with us, LOL. He is my Best Pal ever and I love him. he loves to get and give kisses, he tells me he's a "Good Bird" "Good Boy" "Ma Ma Cracker" "Alright" "Ah Oh" and of course my favorite "Love You". He's so sweet now he brings tears to my eyes and now he's not from biting any more. He likes when I sing How much is that "Birdie" in the window, some times he tries to sing along.
