i have a red tail golden arowana (RTG). when the RTG was acquired april 2005 it was only 12 cm, now it is 43 cm. fed it with live crickets daily, weekly it will be fed live centipede or frogs and a constant supply of small fishes usually baby carp. Water change of 30% to 50% is done every 2 weeks (the aquarium can hold 650 lts).when you see it swimming gracefully, i tell you, its worth it. just beautiful.

Hi I have a 19" Silver Arowana in my 105 gal tank. I think he is the coolest thing ever. he made mates with my 8" Green Terror female and the two of them play all day long. I feed him fresh fhake daily (I DON'T BELIEVE IN LIVE FOOD, IT IS A SIN! POOR FISHIES) and twice a week he gets ox heart, he's growing like a bomb. My best fish by far.

We just got our butterfly fish today, and after reading other comments on other sites, found that you can feed them moths. Well, we just happen to have grain moths in our house that we can't get rid of...so we've been catching them today and putting them in the tank. It's been fun for us watching the butterfly pounce on the moth, lol. So far, it doesn't seem to be bothering our other fish. We have many "aggressive" fish that don't bother our other fish. We've actually never had any problems. We have an African Knife, also...and that is a great fish to watch, too.

I have a 8inch silver arowana. Right now he is in a 55 gallon tank. But when my arowana gets bigger i am going to get a 125 gallon fish tank. Now i am feeding him brine shrimp, pellets to enhance its color, he even eats large flakes. That food is for a very good diet. some people feed there arowanas live food, i don't because they are very fatty!! which can cause drop-eye. i keep my silver with a iridescent shark, blood parrot cichlid, discus, 2 anglefish, and 2 plecos. They are a very peaceful fish. Also he does not jump out of the tank at all, but my tank is pretty well covered. My water pH is at 6.5, and the temp is at 77degrees. I can watch him swim all day.

i own an Austrialian Arowana, he's in a 110 gallon and he's about 24" long. His neighbors are a pair of large pacu's, along with an ornate Biquor and an Arrowhead Puffer, not exactly what you would consider a community tank. I feed the tank 25 farm raised gold fish every other day. pH is 7.6, H2O temp is 84 F, w/ ammonia, nitrate and nitrite levels at 0. I use a combo of Fluval 404 and 304 canister filters. for lighting I use a regular 100W reveal flouresent light and a digital thermo. Will soon be upgrading to a 275 gallon and will be adding an Asian Red and Malaysian Green Aro's along with a Red Tail Cat.

Hi everyone I love arowanas and I used to have one. It was living with some Tiger Shovelnose Catfish and that reminds me of mine. Hes about 5 or 6 inches now. He's being fed Rosy Reds and we didn't feed him for about 3 or 4 days and HE ATE MY JACK DEMPSEY!! My Dempsey was only about 2 and a half inches. I just woke up and its fin was sticking out of my stupid Tiger Shovelnose Catfish. Anyway I am going to get a Silver Arowana with my catfish in a 90 gallon. right now my cat is in a 10 gallon but soon moving to the 90. I just half to watch that cat with my aro cuz of hungryness.
